We are totally DOG FRIENDLY with NO LIMIT ON NUMBERS! With plenty of WALKING from the door, along forest trails and with West Wales offering over 260 miles of coastal paths you will never run out of places to ramble.

For MOUNTAIN BIKERS the Brechfa Forest Trails are world renowned and almost unlimited fire tracks start opposite the barn entrance. The location also makes us a great base for a tour of the Welsh trail centres plus we have our own resident MIAS MTB guide and amazing fleet of full-suspension hire bikes.

The Brecon Beacons are just a short drive away and there are plenty of popular ATTRACTIONS nearby including Aberglasney House and Gardens, Carreg Cennan Castle, Oakwood Theme Park, The National Botanical Garden of Wales and many more. The 2 barns are next door to each other (and adjoining). Although they are both entirely separate there is a connecting door which can be opened should guests wish to book the 2 barns together. The Old Bike Shed is next door to the barns, an annex of the owner's farmhouse but totally separate with it's own entrance. Each property can be booked separately or together to cater for groups of 2-14. For larger groups the furniture is moved to create 1 communal lounge area and 1 communal dining area.

Each barn has their own ENCLOSED GARDEN with garden furniture and a shared BBQ. The Old Bike Shed has it's own ENCLOSED MINI COURTYARD. There is PARKING right outside, bike wash and secure bike storage.

Linen, towels, tea towels, dog towels, heating & electricity (plus a basket of logs in Bay Tree Barn) are INCLUDED in the price. Further logs are available at 5 per basket. DOGS are VERY WELCOME and there is NO LIMIT ON NUMBERS providing guests are respectful of the accommodation and that it is left in the same clean, tidy manner in which it is presented to you. Thank you Amber & Ben - you were perfect guests. You certainly packed a lot in on your weekend with us! As always we're so pleased to hear our guests have enjoyed themselves. For another time, if you are ever short of basic supplies such as tea, coffee, milk - just give us a shout and we will pop some in. I know Ben is interested in one of our fully catered, guided MTB weekends with our sister business MudTrek Mountain Bike Breaks - for your info (and for anyone reading this) all basic supplies are included on one of these breaks (tea, coffee, milk, sugar, orange juice, bread, butter, jam, cereals, porridge & muesli) - not to mention a full cooked breakfast each day plus packed lunches and 2 course evening meals. As self-caterers though I'm really pleased you chose to order one of my meals and enjoyed! Come back soon guys - and bring those gorgeous dogs with you too :)

"Fantastic setting but sadly accom just ok"

I so wish I was able to rate this a 5, I had high expectations looking at the photos and what others have said on TripAdvisor. I cannot fault the location; peaceful, secluded and set high in the Carma… More

How very disappointing that we have not gained our usual 5 star review from you. We will of course take all your suggestions on board and will certainly ensure our cleaners are aware of your comments so that more attention is paid in future. It's a first for us to have mention of dust or mismatched bedding from any of our guests.

The barns are old, stone buildings and, at 1000ft, we are usually a few degrees cooler than down in the villages. However, even in January, I am dismayed to hear that you were cold. We have a very efficient boiler and heating system (recently serviced) and no other guest has ever mentioned this before. There is a thermostat in the lounge which guests can set to suit themselves and, whilst the heating is on "Timed" all of our guests are shown how to override this so that it can be on continually at, no extra charge, should they wish. With the wood burner on too it is usually too hot!

You mention that we should be able to regain our 5 star rating but I would like to point out that we are not, and never have been, a 5 star graded property and I wonder if, because of our consistent 5 star reviews, you perhaps thought we were? We are not, by choice, a graded property at all and the 5 stars we have been awarded on TripAdvisor are by our guests, not by Visit Wales and certainly not by ourselves. We are definitely more "lovely" than "luxury" and, if pushed, I would liken us to 3+ or 4 star and are priced accordingly.

Whilst disappointed that we didn't score top marks with you we are delighted to know that you enjoyed the area.

Dear Pete & Emma. What an absolutely wonderful and informative review. We never tire of hearing that our guests and their hounds have enjoyed themselves but to know that the thought we put into every aspect of our business is appreciated is worth it's weight in gold. We're very pleased too that you mentioned the other aspects of your stay such as the walking, biking and pubs as they are all equally important to our future guests so will be very helpful to those reading your review. Thank you once again for taking the time to write such a kind and helpful appraisal of your accommodation, our business and the local area and facilities. Here's hoping to see you both again soon.
