Guest house, providing holiday packages for families, couples, groups and companies. Because we love nature and we care about it, we offer only sustainable trips that are not going to harm the environment. All our food is organic and locally sourced and our house runs on renewable energy. We support the local community by buying natural products only from regional suppliers and by donating part of your money to environment agencies. Whether you like nature and animals, or you want to discover new cultures or you just believe in vampires and myths, you're in the right place!

We provide different types of holidays for both families and couples with meals and different types of activities included in the package price. Please have a look at our website for more information: http://transylvania-eco-holidays.co.uk/

Our house is located in Rasnov village, in-between the famous Prahova Valley and Brasov City at 122 miles from Bucharest and 6 miles from the legendary Dracula’s Castle. Located on a picturesque plateau, our house has breathtaking views over the Rasnov fortress, the forest and Piatra Craiului Mountains.

The house is brand new, being built in 2010-2011. We are very proud to be the owners of one of the first GREEN homes in Romania and maybe in Europe, which has a fully ecological central heating. By relying only on earth’s heat, ZERO CO2 emissions are produced when we use hot water or we warm up the house.

You've chosen the perfect area in terms of attractions:) The hotspot is definitely Dracula's Castle, which is 20 minutes away from our house. 5 minutes away from our house you can visit Rasnov's fortress, which was built in 1331 by Teutonic Knights to defend Tartar invasions and has an amazing structure and spectacular views over the surrounding area. You can also discover Brasov, with its medieval streets, defensive towers and stunning old churches (Eastern Europe’s largest gothic church).

I would definitely recommend Pestera Village, which is situated in Piatra Craiului National Park, home to bears, wolves, deer and lynx and surrounded by two massifs: Bucegi and Piatra Craiului. Breathtaking views, accompanied by a visit to a local farm will make your day unforgettable.

Finally, Sighisoara, a A UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of the world’s best-preserved and still inhabited medieval citadels. Being built in the 13th century, the town is surrounded by small artisan shops and cafes and is Dracula's town of birth.

The Transylvania region

While the Romans called it Transylvania, Romanians Ardeal and Germans Siebenburgen (the seven castles), the "land beyond the forest" – as the Latin name translates – is genuine enough. This untouched fairyland is a place of medieval mystery and ethnographic diversity where Romanian, German and Hungarian traditions met and shaped a multi-cultural society with some of the most diverse and rich history anywhere in Europe. The stunning, unspoilt landscape reveals imposing medieval castles, graceful palaces, Saxon fortress-churches and crumbling ruins. The seven towns (Bistrita, Brasov, Cluj-Napoca, Medias, Sebes, Sibiu and Sighisoara) that survived repeated invasions over the centuries make an outstanding holiday destination.

Transylvania is much more than vampires, it has something for everyone, from the breathtaking natural wilderness, inspiring cultural gems and the soaring peaks of the Carpathians, to the bustle and whirl of the big cities.

Nature lovers have the opportunity to discover one of the last virgin forests of the planet, along with the fascinating world of wild animals such as bears, deer, lynx and wolves. Bear-tracking, birdwatching and visits to the shepherds’ workplace, called “stana” are just a few of the remarkable activities that tourists can enjoy.

For couples Transylvania is a romantic destination with varied, dramatic landscapes that change throughout the four distinctive seasons - from the deep snows and iced waterfalls of winter, through the clouds of fruit blossoms of early spring, the bright hay meadows of summer to the dazzling fall colors of the Carpathians.

The active persons can do cycling, mountain climbing, horse riding, walking and of course skiing during the winter in the Prahova Valley, notorious for both wine and skiing.

Even families with children can enjoy so many activities at our holiday-home - carriage rides, wild animals observation, local farms tours, trips to museum and medieval castles, to name just a few.

Brasov

This beautiful region has something for young people as well. Beyond the dazzling Dracula’s castle, there are the vibrant coffee shops, restaurants, shops and nightclubs that create a unique joyful atmosphere.

As for the food, we guarantee the freshness and taste of the dishes. All the ingredients are locally produced and besides all the Romanian cuisine is truly a special one. Romanian territories were occupied by Turks, Hungarians, Austrians, and Russians and we are still a Latin culture. Where in the world would you find such a mixture? This is unquestionably reflected in the local food.
