A delightful and recent conversion of former stables situated in the idyllic rural setting of the Howardian Hills. The cottage is situated in the owners grounds in the small hamlet of Stearsby. All on one level it has been finished to a very high standard and is full of character having retained many of the original features. The local area is perfect for walkers, cyclists,horse racing enthusiasts and those wish to explore the historical city of York, the famous spa town of Harrogate and nearby market towns of Helmsley, Malton, Easingwold and Thirsk . Easy access to coastal resorts of Scarborough and Whitby along with local attractions of historic Castle Howard , Flamingo Land and many more. Luxuries of cotton bedding, king size and superking size beds (alternatively this can be split to form two singles ) and two bathrooms make it perfect accomodation for two couples or for families as the bedrooms are at the opposite ends of the cottage ensuring greater privacy All towels are provided. There is plenty of parking and a private west and south facing garden/patio with BBQ to enjoy the afternoon and evening sun. Amenities - central heating with a double sided log burner with a starter pack of logs,all other fuel and power are included in the rent. Electric cooker with induction hob, large fridge freezer, dishwasher , washing machine, microwave, TV with freeview, DVD player , radio/ipod dock, wifi /broadband and a good selection of games, books and dvd's. A travel cot and high chair are available if necessary alonq with good safe storage for bicycles. The nearest shop and pub are 2 miles away with a great selection of other dining pubs within a short drive.Sorry no smoking nor pets. Weekly bookings are Friday to Friday . In low season we can be more flexible and have short breaks . Pleas don’t hesitate to get in touch for breaks longer than a week and special requests .

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Lindsay (the owner) a message.

If Lindsay (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
