Situated right on the river with beautiful views over the river and Postwick Marsh it has it's own six seater day boat on it's own jetty. The cottage sleeps six + 2(the conservatory has a pull out double sofa bed). It has a well equiped kitchen, games room, ensuite master bedroom and large living room with an open log fire and spectacular views of the river, making this an ideal all year round rural retreat. "Disappointed and let down"
The moorings is in need of a deep clean, decorating and updating. The pubs at Surlingham are excellent, location excellent, shame about the accomadation.… More

"Excellent for a girlie weekend away"
We had a great time, fantastic hot tub, great facilities. When 7 middle aged women get together for a weekend you need plenty of bathrooms and this property has many! The boat was great fun (apart from the swans, but I can't blame that on the property) and it is just a short trundle up the river to Norwich. We had a great days shopping followed by an hour in the hot tub under the stars and a glass of wine by the open fire. Great setting, great facilities, great weekend, THANK YOU!

"New Year weekend away with friends......"
We booked The Moorings for a weekend away with friends to see the New Year in. The property was easy to access and relatively easy to find with the directions we'd recv'd from the management company. The property itself is in a lovely location, down a quiet lane with a great view out of the lounge over the River Yare. The house was warm and cosy. The decor is dated and a little tired in places but perfectly functional. We were informed though by the management company when we arrived that it had recently changed hands and hopefully this would be changing soon. The kitchen was well stocked and had a convenient dishwasher to clean up after 7 of us! The hot tub was perfectly warm but is set up high in the garden up some steep steps which could be tricky for some i suppose but not for our party. The hot water in the bathrooms wasn't especially hot but this could be to do with 7 of us taking showers simultaneously! The boat was great for a day out into Norwich despite the grey weather and certainly kept our male travelling companions entertained.
We felt it needed re-decorating, new bathrooms and soft furnishings to bring it up to date with other properties we have rented previously together. The bedroom off the games room also needs some black out blinds - small animals (possibly a hedgehog or cat maybe!) setting off the security light throughout the night really disturbed our sleep.
All in all though, despite a couple of niggles, we enjoyed our weekend away and feedback from our friends was good. It was certainly large enough for us all and we agreed would probably be even nicer in the summer when we could make the most of the river and gardens.

"No Heat or Hot Water"
House is in a good location for watching river/fishing but decor is tired and during our fortnight there were problems with the central heating which left us without heat or hot water from the first day until the thursday of our first week; not an ideal start to any holiday, especially as one of our group was 95.. Similarly the boat which is advertised as part of the deal was out of action due to its pump being contaminated. When you have paid £1200 per week you have every justification to expect the main elements to work. Pity. Property would well for a large, active group; difficult with anyone infirm due to steep pitch of drive and various levels inside house. Well equipped kitchen but mattresses need renewing.

"Great cottage in a great location"
A great holiday at The Moorings. The cottage has everything you need to make the stay enjoyable.
The hot tub is excellent and ideal for relaxing after a day out.
The cottage is well maintained and the location is great with the river at the bottom of the garden and the pub only a few minutes walk.
The day boat is adequate for exploring the broads and stopping off for a meal and drinks at the riverside pubs.
Very peaceful and suitable for couples and families with children.
Highly recommended and we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
