The Aberdeenshire region
Queen Victoria and Prince Albert came to Balmoral, which is twelve miles down Royal Deeside, as a tenant , and liked the area so much she bought it, demolished it and built the present Castle. It has fantastic mountain scenery with healthy air as witnessed by the lichen growing on the trees.
The Braemar area
A charming highland village with imposing granite architecture and with all the important amenities like surgery, shops, post office, hotels and pub. It has beautiful mountainous landscapes in which to enjoy a wide range of outdoor pursuits.

To have beautiful views and a peaceful location makes this a dream of a holiday let, but high standards of comfort and finding it so well equipped makes this rental very special indeed. We could not recommend Deerpath more. |
Guestbook for Deerpath
The cottage certainly had the 'wow' factor and the sun room provided magnificent panoramic views over the Cairngorms and Dee valley. It was also warm and very comfortable despite some cold weather and heavy rain. Furthermore, the owners made every effort to ensure that our stay was an enjoyable experience. Braemar provides good facilities - shops, tourist office, pubs, hotels, coffee bars etc. The house is on a deer path and they regularly peered over the fence.
