The apartment at Palm Tree Cottage is a competitively-priced one-bedroom property, that sleeps 3, ideal for self-catering visitors and for business executives who need temporary accommodation with a super fast Wi-Fi service.

Located in a quiet, pleasant residential area, it is just off the A322 and a few minutes drive from Junction 3 of the M3. The apartment is very convenient for Ascot racecourse which is just a 12-minute drive away, as well as for Windsor, Crowthorne, Sandhurst, Reading and Woking.

The accommodation is on a flat level (no internal stairs). With its own private entrance and garden, the property has a cottage ambience. It overlooks landscaped grounds to the front, is located virtually next door to the Hilton Hotel Bracknell and is within a short walk of a pleasant park with scenic lake and children's playground. The South Hill Park Arts Centre and Wilde Theatre are a few minutes walk from the property.

The town centre can be reached in 15 minutes on foot or 5 minutes by car. Within a few minutes drive of both the M3 and M4, and close to rail links to London Waterloo and the South West, the property is conveniently situated for commuters. Heathrow airport can be reached in 25-30 minutes. Conveniently for self-caterers, a large Sainsbury's supermarket is situated very close by.

The accommodation is supplied with fresh linen and towels on a weekly basis. It is fully equipped for self-catering. An iron and ironing board, vacuum cleaner and plenty of pots, pans, crockery, glassware and cutlery are supplied.

The accommodation has super fast Wi-Fi broadband and a flat screen TV with a 65-channel Virgin media High Definition TV service, delivered via fibre-optic cable, both of which are included in the price. Gas central heating is also included along with hot water and electricity.

The apartment has a light sunny sitting room which opens directly on to the charming private courtyard garden. It is supplied with a sofa that converts to a four-foot wide, full-length bed, coffee table, circular glass dining table and four chairs, flat screen digital TV, DVD player and i-pod dock. The kitchen leads off the sitting room and is equipped with a gas hob, electric cooker, fridge-freezer, microwave and a Hotpoint washer-dryer. The patio garden - a virtual sun trap - has a bistro table and chairs for alfresco drinks and dining.

The double bedroom, adjoining the bathroom, has a comfortable double bed as well as a full-size single bed, and looks over communal gardens. The designer bathroom is new and has limestone tiles, a full-size bath with overhead shower and is supplied with complimentary toiletries.

The small private and enclosed garden is stone-paved and, being south-west facing, enjoys sun from mid-day to evening - perfect in summer for alfresco dining or relaxing with a drink in the evening.

It is also equipped with a rotary clothes line for drying personal washing. Plenty of off-road parking spaces are available.

The Berkshire region

Berkshire is one of London's home counties. A leafy and prosperous region with many wealthy residents. Despite being so close to London (under an hour's train ride). The county is surprisingly rural and leafy. From the stands at Ascot, for example, a viewer can see only trees.

Ascot racecourse is in Berkshire, within easy reach of the apartment, as are the famous Sunningdale and Wentworth golf courses. Windsor Castle and Windsor Great Park, Eton College, Lego Land and many other attractions are also close by. Henley regatta is a highlight of the summer calendar in Berkshire and the Olympic rowing regatta will be held at Dorney Lake in 2012. Polo is played at nearby Virginia Water.

The area is rich in gastro pubs and good restaurants located close to the river Thames. The busy town of Reading is less than half an hour away by car (13 miles).


The North Lakes area of Bracknell is one of the town's most sought-after locations. Close to North Lakes are the adventure themed swimming pool Coral Reef, the children's discovery centre The Look-Out with its celebrated 'Go Ape' activity. An ice-rink and indoor ski facility are also close by.

The South Hill Park Arts Centre and the Wilde Theatre, both close to North Lakes, are the cultural centre of Bracknell.

Bracknell town centre has some good shops and restaurants.

Clean and tidy as usual. Can't fault Palm Tree Cottage. It's got everything you need. Warm and comfortable. We used it a s a base. Thank You!

"Royal Ascot Retreat"

After a day at the races, the racecourse being only 10 minutes away, Palm Tree Cottage was perfect to come home to and relax. The cottage was perfect in every way. Comfortable, clean, well equipped with a private little garden and outside furniture. My Daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our four day stay and hope to return for another trip to the races.

"Nice location"

Enjoyed our stay here, the cottage had everything we needed and it was very clean and comfortable. A very quiet location with a supermarket and coffee shop very close. We would stay here again.

"Small but perfectly formed!"

We were attending a family wedding with 2 kids under 2, so this apartment was absolutely perfect for us. Great location, close to a good supermarket (and Starbucks!!) and in a quiet estate. The apartment itself was fully equipped with everything we needed, and very clean. And it was all so simple to access and book. I would highly recommend it.

"Lovely flat in quiet location was great for a base for sight seeing in surrounding area."

This was a great location for us. We visited Ascot, Windsor, Kew Gardens and Hampton Court Palace. All were within driving distance. London about one hour by train. Large supermarket very close by. Flat was very comfortable and contained everything needed. Felt quite at home here.

"Home from home!"

We have stayed many times at Palm Tree Cottage and every time it has felt like 'home from home'! Everything you could want from a self contained accommodation! The beds are particularly comfortable! There is a lovely little patio with the property which is ideal when the weather is fine and great for BBQs ( and for drying your washing! ). Also, a great location and close to all amenities including a supermarket and two rail stations. All in all, a great find and we shall certainly continue to stay here!

"Spacious accommodation in quiet location"

Very well equipped and furnished ground floor flat. Quiet location but close enough to a main road for easy access to other places. Not possible to park directly outside the flat but parking only about 100 meters away so not a big problem. Flat had everything we needed but for me the bed was a little uncomfortable as it was very firm but that is a matter of personal taste. Overall we found the flat just what we needed to visit family, friends etc in the area and will probably use it again next year.

"Comfortable, clean and private, very nice accomodation"

A very pleasant stay, the apartment had everything I needed for a 3 month stay, just perfect. Clean and pleasant environment in a private location.
