The Lazio region
Located in the centre of Italy, Lazio is characterized by lovely climate not cold in the winter and not too warm in summertime. The attractions are not missing and they properly became from the long history of this land especially referring to the Majesty of the Ancient Roman Empire which is still evident and present through the hundreds of historical evidences spread downtown the city. Moreover the visit of the Vatican City, which serve in its museum the most precious collection of art masterworks of the Earth, is for sure an experience to carry on at least one time in the life.
Bracciano / Monti area
This area is located on the top of the highest hill of Bracciano’s territory one of the most beautiful feudal residences in all of Europe and site of the recent Tom Cruise - Kate Holmes wedding. Its strategic position overlooking the lake was choose in the past as location for the Odescalchi’s Castle. “Monti” is the ancient medieval borough built up at the beginning of XIV by the bricklayers working at the construction of the Castle.During the century this houses were lived in by the notables and authorities (religious, military and civilian) but this ancient core even was the pulsing hearth of the economy of medieval town mostly based on agriculture and artisan products. Worthwhile to be mentioned this borough was so important for the medieval power of the Castle that it was decided by the acting Lords of the time to protect it with structural military reinforcement and a protective moat all along the perimeter not naturally defended by the overlooking position. The results is a well defended borough in symbiosis with the its Rock. The old town grants the economic health and the Castle the military protection. As usual in Italy a so important past leaves to the visitors many opportunities to feel an emotion at each corner by discovering the evidence of the past. The suggestion is to get lost in this labyrinth of tight streets trying to imagine the live of five centuries ago.
