We aim to give to our customers top value for their money and the comments of our guests are in line with our commitment, as you can see in the guest book.

This lovely guest house in the ground floor of the villa for three to four persons, was completed in April 2006. It is fully independent and composed by own bathroom and kitchenet , king size bedroom, large sitting & dining room,swimming pool, private entry and parking lot, open veranda, large garden of 1500 square meters. From the garden the view is over the old town of Bracciano, the Odescalchi Castle and the lake with the mountains behind.

San Celso holiday home is located just few minutes walk from the lake beach, on the outskirts of the village. Quiet and peaceful, yet only few minutes from the many water sports on the lake, the villa has easy access to all amenities, including the local market for bargain hunting, and many excellent restaurants for eating out.

The villa's guest house benefits from its own private pool, just outside the guest house with a private garden perfect for the children. Leading from the living room is a spacious veranda with stunning views to the Castle and Lake, furnished with a table and chairs to enable you to dine al fresco. With one bedroom and two sofa beds in the sitting room, the apartment is ideal for families looking for fun and relax.

The Lazio region

Every body knows Rome for the history and its immense archaeological treasures, but the region of Lazio, beside Rome, is filled with the remains of the even older Etruscan civilization, and the many roman settlements which can be seen in the ancient villages of Tarquinia, Cerveteri, Sutri , Vulci, Tivoli and many more.

The region enjoys one of the best climate in Italy, and the coast line is plenty of excellent summer resorts such as Circeo, Sabaudia, Fregene and Santa Severa, just to name a few. Its main lakes, such as Bracciano and Bolsena offer beautiful beaches and water sports within a beautiful landscape and a more relaxing atmosphere.

Bracciano / San Celso area

Windsurf and sailing lessons.

Within 1.5 KM. from the guest house, Planet Sail located on lake's shoresis is giving sailing and windsurf lessons, for adults and children, from April to September every year. Official rates are Euro 290 for adults and Euro 200 for children till 17 years of age.The courses are based on 6 days for three consecutive week-end, however we can arrange lessons to be taken in one or two weeks, provided a minumum of five partecipants of different ages. Requests to be submitted well in advance.

San Celso Holiday Home has a standing agreement for a 10% discount, with various restaurants. In the restaurant on the beachside, Luccio d' oro between June and September guests may rent beach unbrella and lawn chairs at a minum rental fee. Average price for lunch and dinner, Euro 20 per person.

The village of Bracciano all around the castle is full of life, restaurants, museum, and during the monts of July and August to the delight of residents and the many tourists from all over the world, the city of Bracciano is enriched by a mixed number of cultural events, as classic concerts, rock music and theatral performances, taking place six days per week.

The house is located in the luxury residential area of San Celso just 2 Km away from the Castle.

HISTORY OF THE CASTLE - The first part of the Castle is dating back to the 12th century, when it belonged to the prefect of Vico. After the year 1370 it was acquired by the city of Rome, and in the year 1419 the Pope donated it to the noble and powerful Orsini family, who started the enlargement and the trapezoidal shaping and 6 towers of the castle. Today it represents one of the last great castle for archers in Europe.

Famous personalities, such as Pope Sisto V in 1478, Francesco della Rovere, and during Christmas 1494, king Charles VII of France were hosted in the Castle. Following clashes with the Church and financial difficulties, the Orsini family lost the Castle. After some time and with diplomacy they gained back the favor of the Pope and regained the property of the Castle. Paolo Giordano was nominated Duke of Bracciano, and his successor Paolo Giordano II, successor of the Duke, started the development of Bracciano by building an aqueduct to convey water from Manziana hills.

Losing power, the Orsini Family made an auction to sell the Castle in the year 1695, which was bought by the Odescalchi family, who till today own this magnificent property.

Odescalchi Castle is generally renting some of the large saloons in order to arrange conventions and cerimonies: the saloon of the well, 216 sq.m and 240 seats; I granai, 312 sq.m and 500 seats; one of the tower and the large frontal garden. But for the wedding of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, the Castle has been entirely rented. It is open for visitors all days except on Mondays.

How to get there

You can easily get to San Celso holiday home located on the beautiful lake of Bracciano and its surroundings, only 33 Km from Rome, in a few hours from all over the world .

Low cost carriers, Ryan Air and Easy Jet, are flying into Ciampino Airport with frequent daily flights from many UK and Europen airports, and from almost all the world more than 80 airlines link Rome Leonardo da Vinci airports with hundred of daily flights.

Both airports are located within 50 KM from the city of Bracciano.

All major rent a car companies are available in both Airports.

Please note that Bracciano is linked by railway to four stations in Rome, every 30 minutes!!!!!!

The guest house was completed in April 2006, with all new furniture. The seating room is spacious and comfortable, and is equipped with Sat Tv with a subscription to a package of SKY television, which include 9 movie channels h24, national geographic, history channel, animal planet and many other with double audio in English and Italian, plus Dvd, Amplifier and the link to the ADSL wide band, available H24. The table in the lunchroom can seat easily 6 guests while the delicious new kitchen is equipped with all the utensils for cooking.
Telephone is available for making FREE telephone calls within Europe and USA to all landline numbers, and can receive incoming calls for numbers located in London, Amsterdam and Rome.

The garden surrounding the Villa allows a magnificent panoramic view, and the swimming pool is just outside the apartment. Guests can enter the property through a remote controlled gate, without getting off the car. Olive trees, roses, bay laurels and a green lawn welcome the guests when getting off the car.

-Swimming pool is available between April trough October.
-The garden is shared with the owners, but in view of the size of the garden, guests enjoy a consistent privacy next to the pool.
-Owners speak English and Dutch and are available for any questions.

-Check-in between 1500 to 1800 LT
-Check-out within 1100LT
Deviations are always possible but need to be agreed with the owners.

Conditions

Reservations will be confirmed upon deposit of 30% of the total, whereas the balance plus a refundable breakage deposit of Euro 200 to be paid cash on arrival.

The apartment is superb and I have enjoyed my daily swim very much.
I would recommend the apartment to anyone who wants to de-stress in quiet environment, but its location so very close to Rome means you can also take in the delights of the eternal city, Viterbo and coastal resorts.

Your direction made the villa easy to find, which meant a relevant start to our holiday relaxation , which continued throughout our stay. We have really enjoyed our stay in Bracciano. You have been a great help to us and it was appreciated very much.

The apartment is spacious, modern and well equipped. The pool, Sky tv and broadband all helped to keep us entertained while we were here.
This is a great base for exploring Italy, and its so easy to get to Rome and the other towns around the lake.
