Home description
The cottage has recently been converted from a barn to offer a lovely cosy home. There are a wealth of beams throughout the building with modern stylish furniture completing the scene. The cottage is tucked away to the side of the main house in a lovely tranquil setting, but shares the driveway with the main house. There is ample parking.
The furniture has been chosen to enhance the charming rustic feel, predominantly furnished in browns and creams with good quality leather furnishings throughout. The bedroom area is on an elevated platform, divided from the room with floor to ceiling beams, thus letting light into both areas yet dividing them at the same time.
A particular feature of the cottage is the sunny patio which has a Mediterranean feel with decorative tiling, a built in barbeque and iron seating in one corner.
The cottage is in a lovely rural setting, surrounded by farmland and situated at the foot of the North Downs. There are wonderful walks from your door with several village pubs within easy reach.

The South East England / Kent region
Kent is in the South-East of England and consists of many important districts such as Dartford, Maidstone, Ashford, Canterbury and Dover.
Arts: Canterbury inspired Chaucer's Canterbury Tales and William Golding worked in Maidstone.
Transport: Kent is easily accessible by road, sea or rail. Indeed, Dover is the closest point to France and remains a hub for ferry travel to the rest of Europe.
Tourist Attractions: Canterbury Cathedral Chartwell, Winston Churchill's home Deal Castle Dover Castle Leeds Castle Rochester Castle Coldrum Stones Brockhill Country Park
This is an area of the UK which contains many walking and cycling routes as well as over 500 years of history.
Brabourne area
The village of Brabourne Lees is within a mile of the cottage, with pub, local store, butcher and garage. There is also a pub in the village of East Brabourne, again about a mile from the cottage. The village itself is in a triangle between Ashford (5 miles), Hythe (7 miles) and Canterbury (12 miles). Ashford offers a good range of shops including the factory outlet centre on the ring road and the International station in the town offers direct services to the Continent (Paris 2 hours). You can also go on a day trip to France from either the Channel Tunnel (crossings take 40 minutes to Calais) or from the Channel Port of Dover (crossings take approximately one hour).
The Cathedral city of Canterbury is 12 miles to the north with its wonderful mix of World Heritage buildings, the cathedral itself, theatres and restaurants and the brand new Whitefriars shopping centre – ideal for a day out or an evening visit. The seafood in Hythe is excellent, straight off local boats and with the long promenade that leads to Folkestone, a great way to exercise, watch the world go by and have a bracing walk! Inland The Cottage is surrounded by wonderful open country with many walks and bridle paths, country pubs and even a deer park within a couple of miles.

There is a traditional style dining table seating four, with stylish brown leather seating.
From this area there is a door leading to the kitchen. This is equipped for four with electric oven, microwave, fridge and extractor fan. There is a freezer in the garage belonging to the owner who is happy for items to be placed in there during your stay.
The bedroom area is divided from the main room by original floor to ceiling beams and set in a brick wall, a charming feature giving a real feeling of division between the two areas. The bedroom has a double bed, brick flooring and a pretty aspect across the wonderful gardens.
The shower room has shower, wash hand basin and toilet together with a heated towel rail.
Further details outdoors: Outside there is a lovely private walled patio area with iron table and chairs and a built in barbeque. This is a real sun trap and being enclosed is lovely and warm even on more breezy days. Parking is on the shared driveway.
