We started to rent out our eco-friendly house in June 2014. It was built in 2008, starting with a small piece of land with one olive-tree.

Our place is a one-of-a-kind and the nearest neighbour house is 50 meters away and below. This charming little hideaway with a secluded location and a wonderful sea view is located on a hillside just outside the picturesque and peaceful little village of Bozburun. It has a nice little garden with BBQ and a private pool overlooking Bozburun bay and Symi Island. Bozburun is one of those rare coastal villages not yet discovered by the tour operators and mass tourism.

The location of our house is on the hillside of Adatepe, 1,8 km from Bozburun village. It has a gorgeous view towards the Greek Symi island and across the bay towards the picturesque little harbor in Bozburun. The Adatepe surroundings are unspoilt and peaceful; the road ends 300 meters away and below at the only large hotel in the area. From there a dirt road and a dirt track (steep for the last 50 meters) leads up to our house. At the sea shore 200 meters downhill from the house, there are some small cozy hotels with sea front restaurants, bars and jetties. Our favourite is Veranda hotel at the water front just below our house. There you can have a nice dinner, a beer or a soft drink, rent a kayak or just swim.

Our place aims to be eco-friendly and using sustainable energy solutions. Although the house has mains electricity, our aim is to be totally self sufficient with electricity in the near future. Therefore, we have solar heated water and a solar-electric system powering the garden lights, some lights in the house and the pool system.

The house has an open layout with integrated lounge/kitchen and sliding doors and windows facing the large terrace towards the sea.

The larger bedroom with door/window towards the terrace has one queen-size bed. The smaller bedroom has a bunk bed, the lower bed being slightly larger. The large angled sofa in the lounge can be turned into a double bed.

The kitchen has a fridge with a small freezer and a combined gas/electric stove. There is an oven and all other utensils you may need.

Fresh mountain water can be fetched at the nearby water post (very good and for free) by the small public beach close to hotel Mete.

Bottled water can of course be purchased in any shop.

The bathroom has a toilet (eco-friendly), shower and a washing machine.

The wooden terrace with a bamboo roof covers the full length of the house (11 meters) facing the sea, the bay and the sun-set.

At the south side garden there is a pergola with a textile roof. It has a dinner table for 6-8 persons and a BBQ in the stone wall. At the far end of the garden there is a shower.

At the north side garden there is the small circular pool with a large wooden sun deck area with sunbeds, pergola and a shower.

The pool has an eco-friendly cleaning system (ionization) which is unharmful to your hair, clothes and eyes, unlike an ordinary chlorinated pool.

The house has no air conditioning system but the Meltemi wind coming directly from the open sea, passes through the windows during the day. In the evening the mountain wind makes a cool breeze in the opposite direction. There are ceiling fans and some floor-standing fans that can be used during the night hours, if required.

There is a sound system to which you can connect your lap top, smart phone or mp3 player and play your own music.

At most restaurants in the village, as well as at the hotels near to the house, you can connect to internet via wi-fi for free if you buy something to drink or eat. The house has its own wifi system, most of the time with an internet connection working.

It may be challenging to walk the last part of the dirt track up to the house especially if it is hot, which is why we do not recommend our place to people with physical restraints. For this reason, it is not recommended to bring suitcases! We strongly recommend only back-packs or similar and proper trekking/walking shoes.

We do not recommend our place for children under 10 years of age due to the high elevation to the land in front of the house.

Please note the mentioned price does not include cleaning. In case you don´t want to clean yourself (cleaning gears available) please mention this in the booking. An extra 75GBP will be charged if cleaning is required.

As an extra bonus, it is possible to rent our solar-powered electric boat (small catamaran with sun-beds and a large sun-roof). It is suitable for max 4 people and offers a wonderful opportunity to find the best places in the bay for swimming, snorkelling or a pic-nic.

-How to get there:

*Flight to Dalaman (direct charter flight or regular flight via Istanbul)

We can arrange your private transfer from Dalaman airport -Bozburun (250TL one-way) or from Marmaris. If preferred, you can rent a car at the airport. You can also take the Havas airport coach to Marmaris. They match the arrivals of every domestic flight. If you arrive late in the evening, however, after the last domestic arrival, there might not be any at all.

Havas airport coach to Marmaris takes 1h 20m and costs 15 TL one-way.

Dolmus (local mini bus) leaves from Marmaris city centre and the Otogar (main bus station) to Bozburun (1 h 10 m) 5 times daily, costs 12,50 TL one-way. Bus stop in Bozburun is close to Mete Otel, which is 300 meters from our house.

OR

*Flight to Rhodes (charter flight)

It is also possible to fly to Rhodes, take the ferry boat to Marmaris (50EUR) and then the Dolmus from Marmaris to Bozburun.

Although the ferry boat trip is only 1 hour, this alternative route might be more time consuming depending on the transfer time between the flight and the next ferry-boat departure.

The Turkish Aegean Coast region

This part of the Turkish coast, between Marmaris and Bodrum, is among the cleanest and most beautiful areas in the Mediterranean. This is where the Aegean and the Mediterranean meet. The air is known to be clean, dry, oxygen-rich and very healthy.

The region consists of forrest clad peninsulas, unspoilt bays and small beaches, picturesque coastal villages/harbors and the Greek Dodecaneese islands of Rhodes, Symi, Tilos, Nissyros and Kos close to the Turkish mainland.

Bozburun

Bozburun has only 2000 inhabitants of which many are Gulet (traditional wooden boats) builders and Gulet owners. The village is predominantly visited by wealthy Turks and all those Europeans sailing along the Turquoise coast in chartered Gulets or with private sailing yachts. The village is as far out on the Bozburun peninsula you can go, the Greek island of Symi being 18 km outside the bay.

The area around Bozburun has very clean sea and air and is perfect for sailing, swimming, snorkelling, fishing, kayaking and hiking. There are also some nice small villages nearby that you can visit by dolmus (the local buses), by car or even by foot.

In the neighbour village Selimiye, there is a diving center with a boat for those who fancy scuba diving. You can go there by dolmus.

Bozburun has managed to maintain its quiet and cosy atmosphere with locals continuing with their traditions of fishing, bee keeping and boat building although many new hotels, restaurants and small pensions has been opened recently along the shores of the bay.

Bozburun and especially the exclusive Adatepe area (where our house is located) is widely recommended for people who are seeking a peaceful, relaxing holiday. At Adatepe the only things you will hear when you wake up in the morning are the birds, the roosters, the sheep and goats walking all over the hillside and the sound of the old fishing boats crossing the bay. The speed boats and water scooters has not yet invaded this bay, although more and more Gulets and yachts choose Bozburun bay as their favourite anchoring place during the peak season.

In Bozburun harbor there are some small shops, restaurants, bars and cafes. There are also ATM:s, a post office and a pharmacy.

It is very nice to sit in the harbor, having lunch or dinner or just something to drink, whilst you watch the boats come and leave.

Here you can rent a small boat or join a daily excursion boat around the bay, to another bay or to Symi island. Just outside the harbor on the way to Adatepe, there is a mini Tansas super market, where you can find whatever you need when it comes to food and drinks . The small road along the bay shore from the village to Adatepe is scattered with small pensions and makes a very nice walk. Some of the pensions have charming on-the-jetty restaurants and live music in the evenings.

Bicycles (and some times scooters) can be rented in the harbor. Cars can be rented at a place on the small road along the bay-shore. Sometimes they have smaller (4.5mtr) motor boat for rent.

Our own solar powered electric boat/catamaran is for rent, in case you want to be guaranteed it´s free to use please book the boat at the same time, please contact the owner for more details.
