Gite | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 4
To the northern edge of the beautiful Dordogne, The Sunflower is one of two gites in a stunning 1.5 acre hill top setting with amazing views and tranquility.
The Sunflower is suitable for either a family of 4, or for 4 adults, and is a self catering one-level gite. It contains a bright living / kitchen area which is very well equipped, a light and airy double bedroom and twin bedroom, and a generous bathroom with bath and shower.
From the living room, when you step outside you can enjoy the far-reaching views & tranquility from the Sunflower's private, south-facing, fully-fenced garden and relax with a drink or a BBQ on the patio. If you have children, be assured that the further communal wooded 1.5 acre grounds are also fully fenced!
The pool is secluded and set further down the garden and is shared with The Hideaway, which sleeps only 2 people. The water stays warm as it is covered over at night.
The entire grounds are dotted with containers of colourful flowers and beautiful roses and it is immaculately maintained. Pick your own figs and strawberries in high summer!
Just beyond the main gates is a ridge-top stroll where you can enjoy the stunning rolling landscape. In the evenings our guests can relax and enjoy dinner at one of the many fantastic local restaurants or BBQ 'at home' whilst watching the sunset, accompanied by a drop of the locally produced wine or cognac!
We try to make your holiday as easy for you as possible. We are helpful when needed, but very discreet, and leave you alone to relax.
Additionally, for stays of 7 nights minimum, upon your arrival, we will supply you with a welcome pack consisting of bread, butter, jam, fruit juice, fruit, cheese, eggs, milk, tea, coffee, sugar and a bottle of wine!

The Dordogne region
Towards the north of the Dordogne, and bordering the charming Charente, this is a beautiful part of France, well known for its rolling hills, fields of sunflowers and rural charm.
The Sunflower is in a very tranquil setting, located just west of Bouteilles St Sebastien, a small village.
There are many activities on offer in the area, including canoeing, horse-riding, fishing, hiking and cycling.
Beautiful towns and places to visit include Brantome, “the Venice of the Perigord”, Aubeterre - a bustling riverside town, or just potter around the shops, cafes and markets of our nearest pretty towns of St Severin and Riberac.
Venture 5 minutes west and arrive in the Charente region, where you can visit Cognac (80 minutes' drive), or head South to Bergerac (75 minutes' drive) for some wine sampling! Two nearby beaches are at Aubeterre (river beach) which is 15 minutes' drive, or the Jemaye Lake, 35 minutes' drive.
If all this seems too energetic, settle back with a good book in the garden or by the pool, as The Sunflower is the perfect place to get away from it all.
