With the sparking and swiftly flowing Windrush racing through the broad expanse of village Green, the Venice of the Cotswolds as Bourton is referred to, is a treat for visitors no matter what time of year.
With its graceful low stone bridges spanning the small river all intervals, the centre of the village is picture postcard perfect throughout the seasons. The Roman road is a major access route running across the area, taking the visitors from Moreton in Marsh in the North to Chichester in the South.
Bourton-on-the-Water is the most popular of the Cotswold villages, with lots of eating places and things to see and do but there are many, many more wonderful villages to see and Alderley house is in the perfect location to tour from.

The area is criss-crossed by tracks and public footpaths to accommodate ramblers and walkers. Bourton on the Water lies at the very heart of the cotswolds and is the perfect location in which to explore this wonderful area.

Bourton on the Water is knwn as the 'Little Venice' of the Cotswolds and offers a vast array of activities and places of interest, for instance: The Model Village (a perfect replica of the real one). Birdland with over 500 types of birds. The Perfumery, Motor Museum (home of Brum), The Dragon Fly Maze.
