Home description
Cosy Cottage is a pretty Grade II listed property situated in the heart of the beautiful village of Bourton-on-the-Water. Built of honey-coloured stone and with roses and clematis climbing the walls, this is a quintessential Cotswold cottage. It sleeps 4 in two bedrooms (1 double and 1 twin). An inglenook fire, beams, soft lighting and comfy beds create a cosy, romantic ambience. The River Windrush, which flows through the centre of the village, lies a few yards away from the cottage and it is only a very short walk along the riverside to all the shops, cafes, pubs and other amenities of Bourton-on-the-Water.

The Central England / Cotswolds / Cheltenham / Gloucester region
The Cotswolds, lying mainly in Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire, are an area of outstanding natural beauty enhanced by the appearance of the buildings many of which have remained virtually unchanged for centuries and are constructed of a mellow, honey-coloured gently weathered stone. The climate is mild and the soils fertile so gardens and countryside are glorious. All this enchantment is complimented by a wealth of enticing shops, particularly gift, craft, home interior, speciality, and antique shops. There are also many lovely olde worlde tea shops, restaurants and cosy traditional inns with roaring fires and wonderful meals.
Bourton on the Water area
Bourton-on-the-Water is one of the best-known and prettiest villages of the Cotswolds and is located at the hub of the area so is an ideal place from which to explore. It is called "The Venice of the Cotswolds" as it is the only one of the six famous Cotswold villages (Bourton-on-the-Water, Broadway, Burfored, Chipping Campden, Moreton-in Marsh, and Stow-on-the-Wold) to have a river meandering through the main street, criss-crossed by small footbridges and populated by wildfowl. On all sides are charming Cotswold buildings of honey-coloured stone, weathered by age and softened by foliage. The centuries roll back and it is easy to envisage the appearance of an English village in a bygone era. Places of interest in Bourton-on-the-Water include Birdland, the Motor Museum, the Perfumery, the Model Village and the Maze.
