Home description
Tilly’s Cottage is a two-bedroom Cotswold-stone cottage that has recently been stylishly refurbished and furnished. Located on a quiet back street, it’s in an ideal location for couples who want a quiet haven, but also benefits from being just a stone’s throw from the centre of the village and all its many facilities. The cottage has all the benefits of modern living including a modern kitchen, dishwasher, washing machine, central heating FreeSat TV and a DVD player, as well as a log burner in the living room so you can curl up in front of a fire.
We welcome dogs (as long as they are house trained!) and the second bedroom is ideal for children. Parking for two cars is available at the rear of the property. And you can easily walk to the centre of the village within a couple of minutes.

The Central England / Cotswolds / Cheltenham / Gloucester region
The Cotswolds is an area of outstanding natural beauty with rolling hills and honey-coloured Cotswold stone villages. The delights of the quintessentially English countryside are complimented by a wealth of tourist attractions, shops, cosy traditional pubs and olde worlde tea-rooms. Bourton on the Water, known as the ‘Venice of the Cotswolds’ because the River Windrush runs right through its centre, is one of the prettiest Cotswold villages with sparkling, clear water and charming little bridges crossing the river.
Bourton on the Water area
Bourton-on-the-Water has many attractions, suitable for visitors of all ages and offers something to do all year round. Tilly’s Cottage is within a very short walking distance of all the village attractions and facilities. These include:
· Birdland (home to the only group of King Penguins in England); · a model village; · the Cotswold Motoring Museum (where children can meet Brum); · the Cotswold Perfumery; · a model railway; · Dragonfly Maze; In addition, there are plenty of shops to browse around in and five pubs to choose between as well as restaurants and teashops to sit in and watch the world go by. The village is also at the centre of a network of Cotswold footpaths that wind their way through the stunning countryside. We provide a picnic rucksack so you can disappear into the hills for the day and take in the stunning views. Or why not hire a couple of bikes from the local shop and see where you end up.
Whatever time of the year you choose to come, there is plenty to see and do including the very popular Victorian Evening on the first Friday in December. It’s a fun-filled evening where villagers dress up, the lights are switched on on the Christmas tree in the river and carol singers serenade you as you tour around the many attractions and shops.
Bourton on the Water also makes an ideal location for exploring other Cotswold towns and villages. Burford, Stow on the Wold and Cheltenham are a short drive away. Or you can venture further afield to Bibury, Lechlade, Oxford or Stratford upon Avon.
Easy to reach, it is between the M5 and M40 motorways and close to the A40 in the heart of scenic countryside . Railway access is from the Paddington to Worcester line at Kingham or Moreton-in-Marsh stations.
