The Cotswolds region
The countryside of England and Wales has a rich diversity of scenery, of great value to the nation. In 1949, the Government decided to protect these areas by giving them special status. The wilder, more dramatic landscapes became National Parks; the softer and more intensively farmed were made Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONBs)
The Cotswolds became an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1966. Being an AONB means that the Cotswolds are protected as a very special landscape - a living working landscape - of national importance for everyone to enjoy. It is one of 40 AONBs in England and Wales and the largest, covering 790 sq miles (2,038 sq kms) and 78 miles (126 kms) from north to south.
There are many beautiful villages in the Cotswold to visit such as Broadway, Burford, Burton-on-the-Water, Chipping Campden, Stow-on-the-Wold & Upper/Lower Slaughter to name but a few. In addition there are a wide variety of attractions including many delightful gardens, historic properties/castles and places for children and adults of all ages.
An attractive village, situated less than two miles from the market town of Moreton-in-Marsh. Made up predominantly of 17th and 18th century Cotswold stone cottages, the village houses a beautiful 12th Century Church. Local amenities include the renowned gastropub, The Horse & Groom, and Bourton House & Gardens. To either side of the village there is farmland, running down to the Batsford Arboretum and the Cotswold Falconry Centre.
You are a short drive (or nice walk using the Heart of England Way) from Sezincote as is Longborough, with its Opera House and your are also only a few minutes drive from the Bourton-on-the-Hill site of the Cotswold Paintballing company
The nearest town is Moreton-in-Marsh where there are antique shops, gift shops, pubs, restaurants (both eat in and take-away), tea rooms and the three supermarkets, two of which make home deliveries. Stow-on-the-Wold is also only a few minutes ride away.

Thank you for your review – both good and “not so good” points; we appreciate all feedback which helps us improve where we need to.
A few comments in reply. It's a small cottage – can't do anything about that. We do have three people stay on a regular basis and they seem to cope. We have a normal size fridge – in fact it's slightly larger internally than normal (for the UK at least !) as it is a larder fridge with no ice box. We have a separate, mini, freezer as well. Toilet, we were unaware of this before your visit – no one has mentioned before – we will get it fixed. We are pleased you found it “rustic” – we aim for a warm, cosy feel as you note in your review.
We are glad you enjoyed your stay. Again, thank you for your comments.
