Sandbanks is located at the entrance to Poole Harbour and is four miles from Poole town centre. Originally a shanty town composed of disused railway carriages and the like, it became a millionaire's playground in the latter half of the 20th century. It is formed from an expanse of sand dunes from which it takes its name.
The sandy peninsula is connected to the mainland by the Isthmian Road and its sandy beach, which stretches for seven miles right through to Bournemouth.

After booking and contacting the owners directly we arrived, a family of four to find everything as previously agreed. Very helpful owners, the property is as shown in pictures on line. Private parking, private balcony, big kitchen, two separate bathrooms in a quiet upscale neighborhood. Walking distance to the beach, hotel and local ferry service with a short drive to local pubs. A few yards walk to fabulous views of Brownsea Island and ocean views. Poole and Bournemouth are easily accessible with a short drive. I would highly recommend this property for its awesome location! |
