The Beautiful town of Bournemouth is the gateway to a wealth of wonderful places on the South Coast of England . A short drive takes you to the New Forest, travel to the historic habour town of Poole, take a boat trip across to Brownsea island owned by the National Trust or visit the small hamlet of Christchurch. We have an abundance of wonderful memories for the children with the family adventure parks of Alice In Wonderland, and Paultons Park, the Aquarium, soft play centres, sandy beaches, Ice skating to name a few! Bournemouth also caters for those seeking culture with our museums, theatres and small intimate art galleries.
We have a visitors book in the cottage that will give you ideas for great days out to include local attractions
Ideal things to do on bright sunny days and plenty of stuff for those odd rainy ones!
Bournemouth really does have something for everyone, especially families as we have so many great children's attractions. if you are adventurous we have Moors valley "Go Ape programme" where you can literally swing through the trees! The Moors Valley park is a great day out and not too expensive for us parents! We have delightful walks in the famous Bournemouth and Boscome Gardens, the Beautiful Compton Acres a gardeners delight. We have the Russell Coates Museum right on the cliff top giving panoramic views of the coastline. You can take boat trips along the coast and visit Swanage or even the Isle of Wight - the days out are endless! Or you could just settle down in front of a roaring fire with a good book and a bottle of wine! Visiting in the summer, relax in the private south westerly garden or light up the BBQ.
There are so many restaurants in Bournemouth to choose from . Intimate restaurants, casual restaurants, those with great views of the sea and great atmosphere, you will be spoilt for choice.
We are always at the end of the phone if you need advice or help during your stay.
We are a strictly no smoking home please.
The Dorset region
Bournemouth is a great base for exploring the South Coast of England, we have a mild climate in the winter months and generally have some of the hottest summer temperatures on the south coast. Bournemouth is such a diverse area and within 10 miles either side you can be in the open countryside or on a small desserted beach. We have plenty of summer fun in the traditional Bournemouth Pleasure gardens with daily activities for both young and old. Our theatres attract top names throughout the year and our restaurants and bars cater for a wide range of tastes and budgets. Shopping is excellent and transport links (if you dont have a car) are within walking distance. We guarentee you will enjoy your time here with us.
Bournemouth has such a diverse choice of settings with so many attractions to choose from it is hard to know where to start.
As parents ourselves we know how hard it is to keep the children entertained without burning a whole in your wallet so here are a few of our favourite attractions that won't cost you an arm and a leg!
5 minutes walk from the cottage is Bournemouth Beach and no one can resist a good old day at the beach. During the summer months there is a wide array of free activities for the children in the Kid Zone areas and in the pleasure gardens with numerous seafront attractions.
We have access to some of the most beautiful beaches on the south coast and if you prefer somewhere a little quieter why no take the 5 minute ferry crossing from Sandbanks (Millionaires Row) to Studland Bay which belongs to the national Trust.

At the heart of the park is the Visitor Centre, an 18th century timber barn, which houses Seasons Restaurant ,Just a few minutes walk from the Visitor Centre is the Adventure Play Area for older children and a special Castle and Sand Area for toddlers. From the play areas we cross the picnic area to the picturesque Moors Lake alongside which runs the narrow-gauge steam railway that will take you on a mile long journey through the park.

Poole Park is one of only two Victorian Parks in the Borough of Poole, the park comprises of 109.5 acres of which 60 acres are water. So lots of boating fun, a train journey round the park, an ice skating ring, soft play centre, a great outside play park, loads of great trees to climb and lots of paths to cycle or roller skate on an ideal day out for families.
In the centre of town we have a wonderful aquarium, wacky warehouse soft play area, pottery painting cafe, build a bear workshop, children's museum, cinemas to name a few

"Fabulous property in a superb location!"
What a lovely property this is! We travelled with ourselves, our 1 year old, friends and their two year old. House had everything we all needed for a brilliant stay and plenty of room for two families. Louise couldn't have been more helpful in making sure we had everything we needed, including travel cot and high chair. Great location close to town centre and beach.
