Seaside Annex FM5286
Apartment | 1 bedrooms | sleeps 2
This lovely compact flat is on the ground floor of a large detached house which is situated in the prestigious Boscombe Manor area, just a short walk away from the cliff top and seafront. The accommodation has been recently refurbished with comfortable furnishings and a good range of equipment. At the end of the road you will find miles of safe, sandy beaches at Fisherman's Walk with its Victorian cliff lift lowering to the glistening waters below, an ideal beach location for those coastal lovers. This holiday property is also walking distance to Southbourne High Street for local shops including banks, post office, launderette, bespoke boutiques, bars and restaurants. A slightly longer walk will lead you to Boscombe which is the UK's most innovative seafront attraction. The Overstrand beach front complex, designed in 1958, has been transformed into a year-round leisure facility catering to water sports enthusiasts in the winter and traditional beach visitors in the summer. If all that is not enough for you, or you want to extend your stay, you can jump in the car and within easy reach of the property is the town centre of Bournemouth for a wide variety of family entertainment, with traditional seaside attractions and of course the English favourite 'fish and chips'. A short car drive in the opposite direction offers the vast New Forest with it's roaming ponies and charming villages or the Jurassic coast of the Purbecks, this accommodation provides a great base to explore all the local areas whatever the weather.

The West Country region
Dorset is a very popular holiday destination all year round. It offers beautiful rolling countryside and the Purbecks. Bournemouth with its award winning beaches and The New Forest nearby. Southampton, Salisbury and Stonehenge are all within reasonable travelling distance. Bournemouth has excellent facilities for the tourists and the town and has a lovely calm multi-racial community.
Dorset features some excellent museums, with world leading centres at Bovington (The Tank Museum, telling the history of military vehicles), and the Russell Cotes Museum and Art Gallery in Bournemouth. Other museums include the Dorset County Museum in Dorchester, The Red House in Christchurch, the Royal Signals Museum at Blandford, and the award winning Brewers Quay in Weymouth. Many smaller towns have their own local museums.
Southbourne-On-Sea is a suburb of Bournemouth. It is the most easterly part of the borough, between Boscombe and Christchurch, whilst still being a distinct seaside resort suburb within Bournemouth. The resort has superb sandy beaches, a very popular children's play park on the cliff top, cafes, fabulous views sweeping from the Isle of Wight across Poole Bay to the Isle of Purbeck, a shopping centre, pubs and restaurants.
Further along towards Hengistbury Head is Southbourne Crossroads. At this crossroads are a public house, a surf shop, a café, hairdressers and news agent. For activity in the local area Seafield Gardens, which has held the prestigious Green Flag Award since 2001, offers bowls, tennis and features a watertower. One tourist feature of Southbourne-On-Sea is the Fisherman's Walk Cliff Railway, a funicular railway between the clifftop coastal road and the promenade and beach. This provides very easy access to Southbourne-On-Sea's Blue Flag beach, from which it is possible to reach the beaches at Boscombe and Bournemouth.
Bournemouth offers beautiful sandy beaches which have facilities to provide safe holidays for children, wonderful parkland and world famous gardens, theatres, cinemas, cafes, restaurants, pubs and amusements - fish and chips too!
