Riverside Lane HB4869
House | 1 bedrooms | sleeps 4
The Old Bakehouse is a landmark building in the pretty riverside village of Tuckton, Southbourne-On-Sea, and dating back to the 1800's this one bedroom holiday cottage is presented to a good standard with a good range of equipment and furnishings. The property is just a few minutes walk to the river Stour with it's riverside walks and quaint tea rooms and park. The Harvester Riverside Pub and Restaurant is very close with its varied menu and al 'fresco dining on the river bank. There are a range of local village shops in Tuckton, takeaways, a bakery and a post office along with a long standing Italian restaurant very popular with the locals. The historic town of Christchurch is a short drive away or for those wishing to be more active it is within walking distance. There you will find the weekly market and some traditional seaside shops, with some good fish and chips in the High Street and on the quay. The Quomps on the Quay with the Bandstand form quite a sight in the summer, with live music and plays often entertaining the crowds on those long summer evenings. Bournemouth town centre is easily accessible by car or by public transport on the doorstep of the property, if you want to undertake the more hustle and bustle of the seaside town. The new Forest National park can be conveniently reached and is a dog walkers paradise, with a lot of the Forest pubs welcoming pets. The West Country region
Dorset is an area of amazing contrasts, come and drink in our breathtaking scenery, absorb our history and heritage or simply relax in one of the most beautiful and diverse parts of England.
Dorset (in the past it was often referred to as Dorsetshire), is a county situated on the South West coast of England, bordering the neighbouring counties of Devon, Hampshire, Somerset and Wiltshire, .
The county town of Dorchester is situated towards the South of the County, with other notable towns including Bournemouth, Poole and Weymouth as well as many smaller towns dotted around the County.
Being a predominantly rural county around 50% of Dorset population resides in the South-East of the County around the towns of Bournemouth, Christchuch, Poole and their districts.
Perhaps one of Dorsets most famous characteristics is its Jurassic Coastline which features many natural landmarks including Lulworth Cove, Chesil Beach and Durdle door to name just a few.
With seven miles of golden sands and sparkling sea, the vibrant cosmopolitan town of Bournemouth has it all – a vast variety of shops, restaurants and holiday accommodation, buzzing night-life and endless countryside with beautiful award-winning gardens and water sports galore.
Bournemouth supplies the perfect base from which to explore the full pleasures of the area (Dorset & Hampshire), as it offers a mix of experiences to suit all tastes. All set in area that enjoys the UK's best weather and warmest temperatures. All set in a surprisingly compact area, making it the ideal place to visit for any length of time, from one week to two months.
Situated only 2 ½ hrs drive (the time usually taken to drive to the airport and check in) from Birmingham and London, Bournemouth presents itself as a destination that is conveniently only a short drive for many, and brings with it more benefits than most European destinations.
Set in one of the most beautiful parts of southern England, Bournemouth and Poole are justly famous for their seven miles of golden sandy beaches, awarded Blue Flag status meaning they are internationally recognised to be of the highest standard, but there is so much more to the area than the seashore.
The area has a host of award-winning restaurants, bars, clubs, theatres, museums and cinemas, as well as countless attractions and places of interest.
With its ponies, protected natural beauty and thousand years of history, the New Forest is Bournemouth's back yard and for those of you of a literary bent, Thomas Hardy country is just a few miles away (Bournemouth being Hardy's Sandbourne). Continuing the themes, the tranquillity of the nearby isle of Purbeck was the inspiration for Enid Blyton's Famous Five adventures.
Add to that the National Trust sanctuary of Poole’s Brownsea Island and the historic charms of Christchurch and its famous Priory and you have the perfect backdrop for your holiday - with accommodation from Bournecoast being the cherry on the cake.
