We were very unhappy and disappointed because the flat was extremely dirty, it was obvious that it hadn't been cleaned for a long time. For example, the bath was very dirty and you could see stains everywhere on it as well as on the doors, the carpet was full of hairs and stains/dirt, the vaccum hadn't been emptied and couldn't be used and was making a horrible noise, and the worst part was the kitchen where we had to clean everything, the floor was extremely sticky and the toaster wa very dirty and damaged.
Both estate agents refused to come upstairs and have a look, instead they told us that the flat may not have been cleaned to "our" standards. They sent a cleaning team the next day in order to clean the flat but it was still done quickly and partially. The most frustrating was that it was a quite expensive flat (£850 for 6 nights) and the general state of the flat didn't match the description on the website. It was unacceptable considering the expensive rent. It would have been fair to be partially refunded as it was far from what we had expected. We kept a mail from the agency saying they were sending the cleaning team and we also took pictures.
