Arriving to a spacious, clean, modern large ground floor apartment. Glancing out of the front window and catching sea views in the backdrop. Which is why we’ve packed our Bournemouth bolthole with all the trimmings you’d expect in a home from home.

The Dorset region

Dorset is famous for the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, which features landforms such as Lulworth Cove, the Isle of Portland, Chesil Beach and Durdle Door, as well as the holiday resorts of Bournemouth, Poole, Weymouth, Swanage, and Lyme Regis. Dorset is the principal setting of the novels of Thomas Hardy, who was born near Dorchester.[4] The county has a long history of human settlement and some notable archaeology, including the hill forts of Maiden Castle and Hod Hill. Bournemouth lies in the heart of Dorset on the south coast.

The breathtaking Dorset coastline offers everything from picturesque harbours, long sandy beaches, dramatic cliff top formations, hidden coves and rock pools.

The Jurassic Coast is England's only natural World Heritage Site, and is a walker’s paradise. Of equal appeal to the walker is the New Forest, England's newest National Park, but steeped in history.

Poole Harbour is a stunning location for all types of watersport. The harbour and it's islands offer a haven for wildlife including the bird sanctuary on the world renowned Brownsea Island.

Bournemouth

Bournemouth itself is a mecca for shopping and a centre of entertainment with theatres, cinemas, a casino and clubs, bars and restaurants. Bournemouth and Boscombe both have charming traditional piers and award winning gardens. One of the newest attractions in the area is the new artificial surf reef at Boscombe.

For families there is plenty on offer for kids of all ages, a couple of highlights being ‘Serendipity Sams’ playpark at Christchurch and Bournemouth Oceanarium.

Southbourne is on the eastern fringe of Bournemouth, away from the hustle and bustle of the city but with easy access to the centre by car or public transport. There are several cafes and restaurants very close to the property including the well known ‘Cafe Riva’, a short stroll away, located near the lift on the top. Even closer - is the Commodore hotel, with dining and outside seating for lovely sunsets. Also its just a short stoll to Southbourne Parade, with cafe's shops and bars and restuarants. Just a mile to the east Christchurch has a great choice of restaurants, centred around it's historic Priory church.

There are miles of sandy beaches from Hengistbury Head just to the east, all the way past Bournemouth to Sandbanks in the west, with a path / cycleway running all the way along the shorefront.

"Very clean & comfortable house, perfect for young families"

A great house, clean, warm, secure, very well decorated and set down a quiet road. Beds are comfortable and all the amenities (TV/ kitchen appliances & wireless) work perfectly. Perfect for young families as it is within 200-300m from the beach (very soft fine sand with some stones and completely rubbish free) so kids can play there until the sun sets and then its an easy 5 minute walk home.

"Beautiful apartment with many extras"

We stayed in this apartment for a week at the end of July/ beginning of August 2014. The apartment was lovely with lots of extras included to ensure a comfortable stay. It is very close to lovely beaches, just across the road and down the path and shops are in walking distance. The apartment is in a beautiful area and perfect for families. The owner is very friendly and responds immediately to any questions. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again!!

"Lovely accomodation"

I stayed in this accommodation for 3 nights with my wife and 2 young children. We really enjoyed our stay. The property is extremely close to the beach, you literally come out, cross the road and walk down the zig zag path to the beach. It is also very close (5 min walk) to Seabourne Rd which has lots of shops, small supermarkets and restaurants). To get to Bournemouth Pier (where the aquarium is located), it’s about a 45 min walk along the sea front or you can drive in 8 mins or so (about £10 in a taxi). Very convenient indeed. The property is really tastefully decorated and is clean and in great condition. There are lots of nice little touches to make your stay comfortable (DVDs to watch, magazines and books to read, a gas BBQ in the garden) and the layout of the flat was good for my kids (no stairs and they could move freely and easily between rooms and into the garden). Anemities such as shower, cooker, microwave are all modern and work well. The sofa bed is also comfortable and there is plenty of bedding. The owner returned our security deposit in full and quickly which is always much appreciated. A great place to stay…I am sure we will return one day.

"Perfect!"

The accomodation catered for me, my husband and my 2 year old perfectly. Good location, right near the beach and playground for toddler. Everything we needed in the accomodation, lovely to have a garden too!!! Fully equipped. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to all!

"Great location!"

Just returned from a weeks holiday. Nice comfy spacious flat. Great location for the beach, getting around etc. We would definitely recommend this holiday rental to a friend..

"A refreshing change from your usual chintzy seaside rental!"

Our group (3 adults) stayed here for a long weekend whilst visiting friends in the area. The apartment was fantastic, clean, well equpped and located almost on the seafront. We were impressed with the modern, slightly retro decor, which made a refreshing change from some of the more chintzy places we have stayed when visiting this part of the world!! We were lucky to have beautiful weather and made use of the spacious back garden, replete with an array of furniture and a BBQ. Everything we need for a great stay, we will definately be back!

"Excellent clean accommodation, right next to cliff top"

This is a well equiped & clean flat suitable for all. I would recommend the location & property. The rooms are large & spacious & very suitable for our young family consisting for a small dog, couple & 12 week old baby! Will definitly return & would advise you not to miss this property. In one direction is the cliff top leading to the beach & 10 minutes walk in the other direction is a row of shops to meet all your day to day shopping requirements.

"Had a fantastic week, great location so much to do and see"

This is a beautiful part of the Country only a couple of hours from home, one that we had never explored. The accommodation was well thought out, well equiped, clean neat and tidy. Two minute walk to the beach, wonderful stretch of clean sandy beaches, perfect for all ages. Great for walking and biking to Boscombe/Bournemouth/Poole. We visited the tank museum, Beaulieu motor museum, walks in the forest, explored area's like Lulworth. Boat trip to Brownsea Island. A great holiday had by all, lots more to see and do.
