The West Country region

Dorset is a very popular holiday destination all year round. It offers beautiful rolling countryside and the Purbecks. Bournemouth with its award winning beaches and The New Forest nearby. Southampton, Salisbury and Stonehenge are all within reasonable travelling distance. Bournemouth has excellent facilities for the tourists and the town and has a lovely calm multi-racial community.

Dorset features some excellent museums, with world leading centres at Bovington (The Tank Museum, telling the history of military vehicles), and the Russell Cotes Museum and Art Gallery in Bournemouth. Other museums include the Dorset County Museum in Dorchester, The Red House in Christchurch, the Royal Signals Museum at Blandford, and the award winning Brewers Quay in Weymouth. Many smaller towns have their own local museums.

"The greatest view you could wish for"

This appartment has superb views across Bournemouth Bay towards Sandbanks and the Purbeck Hills. These views can be enjoyed from the living room or from the delightful roof terrace which is perfect for eating out when the weather is good. The appartment is great for two people but would be cramped with more. The kitchen is well equiped and functional but also cramped. The bathroom is fine and the bedroom comfortable but certainly not luxurious. Access is by some 40 stairs (no lift). There is off street parking which is very useful as parking places around this cliff-top location can be hard to find on sunny days. From the front door to the sandy beach is a 5 minute walk - ideal for a pre-breakfast swim! One downside is traffic noise from the cliff top road early in the mornings. There is a pub 50 yeards away but the area is not great for restaurants.
