HideAway is a luxurious 3 bedroom villa with private pool and landscaped gardens and sea views from the front towards beautiful Bottom Bay beach, just 150 yards away. The villa is newly built in traditional Caribbean design, with high ceilings making the villa very light and airy. It benefits from air conditioning and ceiling fans, or you can simply open the full-width veranda doors to enjoy the natural trade-wind breezes. The bedrooms (super-king, queen and twin bedroom) are of a layout to offer full privacy, with no adjoining walls to other bedrooms. The villa has been elegantly furnished to reflect fresh, Caribbean-style living whilst using high quality and stylish items throughout.

hideAway has its own private pool and beautiful landscaped tropical garden, complete with relaxing sun loungers around the pool, creating a private environment for you to relax. Should you want a break from the sunshine, hideaway offers a large spacious veranda with table and chairs to sit and enjoy the tropical outdoors from under the cool of the shade, whilst overlooking the private garden and pool. The villa, garden and driveway are fully enclosed for your privacy and peace of mind.

Bottom Bay is a beautiful, peaceful location, far away from the crowds, yet just a 20 minute drive to beautiful Miami/Enterprise beach (a double beach with a calm cove one side and surf the other, great for boogie-boarding), Oistins (for the famous Friday night fish fry!), and just five minutes from the spectacular Crane beach and hotel with Thai, Sushi and International restaurants.

We provide all our guests with an island guide and maps, as well as our own personal recommendations gathered from our many visits over the years. In addition, our delightful property manager is locally based to help out with any advice or assistance you may require during your stay. The St Philip Parish region

HIDEAWAY is located on the beautiful south-east coast of Barbados in the parish of St Philip, close to the lovely secluded Bottom Bay beach (voted in The Times' and Conde Nast's top-ten best beaches in the world) with its white sands and coconut palms, which is a 2 minute stroll away. There are a number of other breathtaking bays and beaches nearby including Foul Bay, The Crane, Palmetto (Merricks), Harrismith and Sam Lords to name just a few. There is also excellent surfing within 25mins drive at Silver Point (South coast) and the world famous Soup Bowl at Bathsheba (East coast).

With endless miles of white, powdery sand, exotic lush green botanical gardens, a rich colonial history, acres of sugar plantations and the gentle lapping of the Caribbean sea, Barbados is truly an amazing place for a holiday.

Most importantly, the Bajans are the friendliest people in the Caribbean and with excellent customer care and very little crime on the island you will be happy to explore Barbados and no doubt make a lot of new friends along the way - and they just love their cricket, you will find games (formal and informal) just about everywhere you go on the island.

It’s the most visited island in the Caribbean, with English as the first language, driving on the left, afternoon tea served daily and familiar food in all the supermarkets, you will always have a comforting feeling of home.

A holiday in Barbados can be as leisurely or as active as you wish; with beautiful beaches, interesting sightseeing trips, numerous island excursions, sailing adventures, deep sea fishing, diving opportunities, top-class restaurants, bars, night-clubs and the islands infamous Rum punch!

Barbados is blessed with 3000 hours of sunshine a year and with the north east trade winds keeping the temperature at a constant 27-30 degrees centigrade, anytime of year is a good time to visit. This climate means that Barbados has some of the best golf courses in the world.

Bridgetown has horse racing at the Garrison Savannah, cricket at the famous Kensington Oval, spectacular helicopter tours from the heliport, and submarine trips, sea fishing and boat charters from the harbour.

Polo, Horse Riding, biking and hiking are all available at various locations on the island.

Barbados is an island of festivals including: the Jazz Festival and wind surfing championships in January, Holetown Festival, Holders season and the Gold Cup in February and March, Gospelfest in May, the famous Crop Over celebrations from July to August, and the surfing championships in November, to mention just a few (I think you'll agree that there's something for everybody).

Bottom Bay / Apple Hall area

Bottom Bay beach has to be one of the best in Barbados - if not the Caribbean! And unlike the West Coast, Bottom Bay beach is often deserted, even in high season. Steps carved between the cliffs take you on to this pristine expanse of white sand, where palm trees sway in the gentle tradewinds. Quote from guest: "Our first stop was Bottom Bay beach and it took our breath away. It is such a beautiful peaceful beach, a little slice of heaven".

WEDDINGS are very popular on this beautiful island and Bottom Bay beach has become quite "the place" to have your own personalised wedding ceremony. Many of our guests have been on the island to attend a wedding and have found hideAway the ideal place to stay.

Emerald City shopping village at Six Roads is less than 10 minutes away with supermarkets, banks, petrol station, Dr, post office and restaurant with children's play area. The large, well-stocked supermarket is open every day from 8am to 10pm except on Sundays when it closes at 3pm.

There is also Ocean Park with the new Splash Zone and Miniture Golf just 15 mins drive away - great for the kids as it has plenty of shaded area's.

This is an ideal base from which to explore the island, and only a short drive away from many other beautiful beaches including the famous Crane Beach, voted in the Top Ten Beaches of the World.

A car is recommended to fully explore this beautiful island and all that it has to offer.

How to get there

There are daily flights from the UK, US and Canada with late deals and special offers worth looking out for thoughout the year.

The villa is very easy to reach from the airport and is only a 15 minute drive with hire car or taxi easily available at the airport. If you do choose to hire a car, the roads are good and local drivers are very courteous so driving is a pleasurable way to see this beautiful island.

A regular local bus service runs from Bottom Bay to Bridgetown (as well as other area's of the island), although we would recommend hiring a car to see as much of the beautiful island as possible.

HideAway is elegant and brightly furnished throughout, with ceiling fans in the lounge room and air-conditioning in all 3 bedrooms to keep you cool and comfortable at all times. The master bedroom with super king size bed offers a walk-in closet as well as an en-suite bathroom. The second and third bedrooms have built–in closets with plenty of storage space. The second bedroom has a Queen size bed whilst the third bedroom has full size twin beds. A large bathroom is located between these 2 bedrooms.

The well equipped kitchen, which overlooks the verandah and swimming pool, has lovely granite worktops, ample work space, and good quality appliances including SMEG dishwasher, cooker and hob, a large fridge/ freezer, microwave, blender, toaster, coffee-maker, etc. The kitchen is fully equipped with crockery and cutlery to cater for 6 people.

The bright and spacious lounge with comfortable seating is decorated in neutral tones with a wall-mounted flat screen TV, with multi-choice satellite and DVD/CD player (DVDs can be rented from the rental shop at Emerald City, a short 5 minute drive away). The books, magazines, local tourist information and maps on the coffee table are there for your perusal. Internet access is available (pay-as-you-go) using your own laptop. We also offer a complimentary local mobile phone for your convenience. (The phone is a pay-as-you-go which can be topped up at many places, including the local supermarket at Emerald City.)

There is also an IPOD docking player/charger.

Mosquito nets are fitted to all windows to enable you to have the windows open to enjoy the lovely tradewind breezes rather than air-con if you prefer.

The wide swing-back French doors open from the bright lounge onto the spacious veranda to take full advantage of the cooling tradewind breezes and glorious sunshine. The veranda is furnished with a large round table & chairs - ideal for al-fresco dining anytime of the day and night (with relaxing lighting to enhance the evening tranquility).

Sun loungers are placed around the private pool for you to fully relax and enjoy the sunshine. We also have swimming "noodles" and other beach/pool toys available for you to enjoy whilst staying at hideAway. (Pool size is apprx. 21' x 12' x 4'11" deep.)

Our property manager who lives nearby will meet you on arrival at the villa to help get you settled in, and is available 24/7 during your stay for any assistance required.

Free on-line check-in is available for your return flight.

Our property manager is a UK registered childminder and is available to BABYSIT for a charge of 20 BD$ per hour, payable locally.

Cot (with bedding) and highchair available to hire as well as a larger gas BBQ.

All house linen is provided but please bring your own beach/pool towels.

A holiday pack containing villa info, contact details for our property manager and further information on the island will be provided to you once booking is confirmed.

A welcome pack of basic groceries can be provided upon request.

We regret that hideAway is STRICTLY non-smoking.

For stays of longer than 10 days, there will be a weekly clean carried out at a charge of £25 per clean. Additional cleaning can be arranged locally with our property manager if required.
