The house is located in the medieval heart of Bosa known as Sa Costa. Tight streets with tall, prettily painted houses flank the hill dominated by the Castello Malaspina. There is a fifteenth century cathedral down by the palm lined river front. It is here that the fishing boats moor when not a sea.

The town is compact with shops, bars, restaurants and a weekly market all within a few minutes walking distance. Just down river at Bosa Marina the town beach has once again been ranked as one of the top 10 in Italy and given 5 flags by the Guida Blu. Bosa is a charming Sardinian town and whilst remaining unspoilt by tourism has a lot to offer.

On the third floor there is a living room with 2 sofas one of which is a double sofa bed. The top floor has a good sized kitchen which leads out onto a small terrace and an outside loo. In the kitchen there is a large dining table, fridge, washing machine, electric oven and gas hob. The work surfaces are granite and the units are new. The terrace is covered with a cane awning and there is a table that seats 6. The views from the terrace are lovely as they sweep across the town and up the river valley.

Further details

All bed linen and towels are provided and the price includes final cleaning.

Two of the three flights of stairs within the house are stone and quite steep. The stairs can be isolated by closing doors but toddlers beware.

Children should not be left unsupervised on the roof terrace.

The Sardinia region

Bosa is located on the North West side of Sardinia. The climate is great and although the island can be hot in July/August there is always a light breeze that means the terrace can be used even at midday.

With the river Temo running through it down to the sea, the palm lined river frontage, medieval historic centre, castle, cathedral, huge sandy beaches, tiny coves accessible only by foot, boat trips, diving centre, wonderful climate and fantastic food there is something for eveyone. Within 50km there are numerous nuraghic sites, the phoenician ruins at Tharros and the fantastic white quartz "rice" beaches at Is Arutas and Mari Ermi.

Bosa likes a good festival and the main ones are

Carnival in february - pagan mayhem

Santa Maria del Mare (the first sunday in August)

Regnos Altos (second sunday in September)

"Full-of-character town house in heart of unspoilt mediaeval town"

Stayed three days in October with our 19, 4 and 2yr-olds - could easily have stayed longer. In the heart of the unspoilt mediaeval town - a jumbled maze of alley ways in the side of a hill. Great pl… More

"Great location in heart of the old town; traditional house with character and lots of stairs!"

We stayed here in the height of summer and really enjoyed the location and the simplicity of the house. It's in the heart of the old town, built into the hill, with a real sense of tradition and … More
