The Sardinia region
The island of Sardinia enjoys the reputation of having the most sublime beaches in Europe which combined with it's unique wildlife/vegetation, the archeological sites and the excellent local food and wines make the island the ideal holyday destination for all the family!
The fascinating town of Bosa full of character and traditions, lies on the banks of the river Temo. It is dominated by the Malaspina Castle, built in 1112 at the feet af which lies the old town's quarter with it's traditional tall and narrow houses built on even narrower cobbled streets and the newer developments extending down toward the beach at approx' 1 mile away. Not to be missed is the beautiful Romanesque church of San Pietro at approx' 1 mile of the town centre inland following the river Temo built in the 11th century in an idyllic spot among olive trees and citruses.
Bosa / Bosa Centre area
With its character and "slow motion " life Bosa is ideal for a relaxing holiday and an excellent base for who wants to explore the island. You can join organised day trips to local attractions and historic sites or book a boat trip to explore the coast, join the diving centre, board the "trenino verde" (green train) to explore the inland or just enjoy the local cafes, excellent restaurants and beaches (please check with the local information centre for activities as some are offered in summer only). If you enjoy playing golf check out (@ approx' 45min' drive south of Bosa. Watch out for traditional events and summer festivals, there are plenty around the island, always with excellent food and wines on offer! ...one more thing.... don't forget to bring you Italian phrase book with you.... not many locals speak English!
