About this location
The Sardinia region
Sardinia is the second largest island in the Mediterranean with approximately 300 days of sunshine per year. The island offers travellers landscapes that are colourful and many faceted. Each region has its own characteristics, and a population whose history constitutes some of the most extraordinary events of ancient Italian history. From the beautiful town of Alghero in the north, along the coastal road to Bosa and onwards to Oristano there are fabulous panoramic views travelling overland to the city of Cagliari the landscape changes. Then to drive north again to Tortoli and Dorgoli, such beautiful towns dot the journey, and I am afraid to say you would need months to stay and appreciate all of them. Again on to the coastal road to Olbia, an historic city opening the way to Palau and Baia Sardinia, following the coast to Sassari and Porto Torres. The interior of the country has great mountains and valleys to explore,
Porto Alabe is a quiet, friendly village close to Bosa. It has a large sandy beach and a smaller sand and rocky beach. There is a bar and restaurant though the restaurant only opens in the season. However Bosa is a town full of surprises. The old area of the town has many shops to browse. The castle overlooking it is Malaspina built by the Malaspina family around 1112 and the walk up to the castle through the traditional tall brightly coloured houses is well worth it for the view from the top over Bosa and Bosa Marina..There are a couple of museums, an art gallery, and in the season nightclubs spring up everywhere. We have griffin vultures nesting above Bosa, the only place left in Italy to have these birds. Watch for them on the road to Alghero. The River Temo in Bosa has boat trips in the summer and the tree lined walk by the river is another beautiful sight. If you are lucky you will see the old gentlemen weaving the lobster pots and old ladies, still dressed in black sat at their looms weaving the Bosa filet, filigree lace. We may be in the 21st century but Bosa and the surrounding area give you the tranquility you want for your holidays.

"Already planning our next trip to Casa Bianca"
We stayed at Casa Bianca for two weeks in July 2014 - extended family group of 10 people ranging in age from 16 to 82. The house was beautifully presented, well equipped, very comfortable and spacious… More
This family certainly realised all the potential of Casa Bianca and Porto Alabe and the surrounding district. There really is so much to do and as we can see from this review, Porto Alabe may invite peace and quiet, but it certainly does not mean boredom. We hope to see families like this one back again. We are so glad you enjoyed the house.

"Bliss in the Mediterranean sun"
We stayed at Casa Bianca for a week in April 2012 with our rather large family of 7 children ranging from 13 to 23 years of age. The house is plenty big enough for a large group, and in fact I'm … More
This year 2013, we have welcomed back 3 guests from previous years. I think that probably summarises what our guests think of Casa Bianca. Over the years we have tried to cater for what we know our guests want, comfort, luxury, space and privacy, and anything else our guests ask for we try to cater for. After all it is your holiday, and we want the best for you.
