The Sardinia region
A town on the bottom of the valley, not far from the clear waters of the sea, dominated by the Malaspina castle around which shake the tall houses of the medieval village that go down to the bank of the Temo to come alive with the slight movement of the palm trees overlooking the river, which, with its winding course through the city from east to west.
This is the striking landscape that will offer you all of a sudden Bosa, with his charme, harmony of the landscape and the vitality of its colors: the deep green of the olive trees and orange groves, the blue sea in the background, the pink stone with which softened the houses of the old town, the red, yellow and indigo traditional colorful boats of local fishermen.
The festivity of the Madonna of the Sea is the most colorful, the most addictive and most felt by the community of Bosa, especially by fishermen, who were the focus of the festivities, and farmers, whose business was originally dedicated to the feast.
The recurrence is divided into two parts: the morning of the first Sunday of August, the statue of the Virgin is carried in procession from the church of St. Mary of the Sea at the port, from where, on board a fishing vessel, dating from the waters I'm afraid of the river up to the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in the historic center of the city, where it is celebrated the first mass.
In the second weekend of September, the a festival celebrating Our Lady of Regnos Altos, populate the streets of the historic center, where they are prepared Sos Altarittos (altars), by the inhabitants of the district of "Sa Costa" at long tables that offer drinks and dishes typical local residents and tourists mingle joyfully.
