About this location

The Lake District

The Leisure Village is ideally placed on the doorstep of both the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales and only a few miles away from Silverdale and Arnside which has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Within the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales the opportunities for walking, cycling, sailing, fishing, golf, climbing and bird watching are limitless.

The GoApe experience in the beautiful Grizedale Forest seems very popular with the over 10s whilst the smaller guests enjoy the South Lakes Zoo. Tourist folders available in lodge

For water sports Pine Lakes is 5 minutes walk away and offers various activities including water skiing and tuition. Capernwray diving School is 10 minutes drive away.

The beautiful Leighton Hall (seat of the Gillow family), and The RSPB bird reserve at Leighton Moss which is a mecca for bird watchers and is nationally renowned, Levens Hall and Sizergh Castle are about 10 minutes drive.

Recognised local beauty spots include Fairy Steps, Wharton Crag, Arnside Knott and Farleton Fell, popular places for walks and picnics.

For the fishermen course fishing is available at Borwick Fisheries and the new Tewitfield Marina and Longlands restaurant / bar at about 5 minutes.

The renovated Carnforth Railway Station of 'Brief Encounter' fame is about 5 minutes.

Younger guests particularly seem to enjoy the Lakeland Wildlife Oasis, Docker Park Farm which is hands on and the Butterfly House at Williamson Park, Lancaster.

Morecambe and Lancaster about 10 minutes away have cinemas and 10 pin bowling alleys. Tourist folders available within lodge.

Kirkby Lonsdale market town and Ingleton within the Yorkshire Dales are both well worth a visit and are about 20-25 minutes away. Ingleton has two sets of caves which are open to the public along with Ingleborough and the fabulous Waterfalls for the walkers

Absolutely fantastic property beautifully furnished throughout the owners have thought of everything by far the best property we have stayed in this being our third visit to southlakeland village in the past twelve months, the site is very well kept a great place to relax . The complex has a bar and restaurant which are very reasonably priced . I would definitely recommend this place to others hope to be back again soon

Thank you for making a return visit to our holiday lodge and taking the time to post a review We particulaly loved the drawings from the children in our visitor's book. We're really happy that you all enjoyed your stay and visit to Docker Park Farm which is fab for the little ones. Perhaps if you visit us again a trip out to the South Lakes Zoo would be ideal as it is also very hands on for the children. Thanks again Christine

This is a beautiful and very well equipped lodge with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Music system is an added bonus and something that my teenage kids loved. We brought our own canoe and went out on the lake every day and had the whole lake to ourselves. This is a lovely site with great amenities. Christine is extremely helpful and a pleasure to deal with. I would recommend this lodge and this site.

Thank you for your lovely review and kind comments, its a huge pleasure as always to know that our guests have had a good time and in particular enjoyed the use of the Lake.

"A luxury lodge on a quiet park - the perfect relaxing getaway"

This spacious, modern, immaculate accommodation is an ideal base to explore the lake district, Morcambe and Lancaster. It has everything you need for a relaxing holiday and I would definitely go back again. Whilst there is a restaurant/bar offering good food, there is not a shop on site which would be helpful, but there are supermarkets a short drive away.

Thank you for a lovely review.

It would be great if there was a shop on the Leisure Village and the lack of one isnt ideal, however Tesco and Booths are within a 5 minute drive and both will do deliveries to the Leisure Village. Several of our guests have found it convenient to place an online order timed to arrive shortly after their own arrival.
