Situated in the pretty village of Grange-in-Borrowdale, Grange Fell holiday cottage offers comfortable self catering accommodation for 6 people. Two spacious twin bedrooms make it ideal for families.

This terraced cottage has stunning views of the Lake District mountains from every window and a garden that is the perfect place to relax in after a day on the fells. The village boasts two tearooms, next door is a Grange Cafe and Grange Bridge Tea Room with its pretty garden on the river is only a few steps further. There are two beautiful slate churches too, both lovely to sit inside for a few moments of quiet contemplation. The Borrowdale Gates Hotel has a bar which is open to non-residents and there are plenty of pubs in the neighbouring villages. The nearest is the Borrowdale Hotel, a few minutes along the road towards Keswick or the Riverside Bar in the Scafell Hotel in Rosthwaite.

Grange Fell Cottage is perfectly situated for setting out on foot to enjoy the delights that the Lake District has to offer - the beautiful Derwentwater, lush valleys, majestic peaks, mature woodlands and the gorgeous river Derwent winding a route from its source high up at Styhead Tarn. Borrowdale really is prime walking country with routes to satisfy everyone from all day monsters to gentle rambles along the valley floor.

The Borrowdale area

Borrowdale is one of the most stunning valleys in the Lake District - offering varied walking from the most family friendly fell of Catbells to the highest mountain in England, Scafell Pike. Both can be reached from the valley floor as can a myriad of other walks. Borrowdale offers some classic rock climbing routes and scrambling opportunities. You can cycle on road through the valley and over one of the toughest passes at Honister, or go off road on the bridleways for some more adventurous biking. At the southern tip of Derwentwater you can hire all manner of boats for adventures on the lake from Platty+.

Leave the M6 motorway at Junction 40 (Penrith).
At the motorway roundabout, take the first exit (signed Keswick)
Follow the A66 for about 15 miles.
Turn left off the A66 (signed Keswick).
At the end of the road turn left (signed Keswick).
At the end of the road turn right (which takes you down the hill into Keswick).
You will pass through a set of traffic lights, round a few bends and then you will come to a mini roundabout. Take the first exit left at the mini roundabout. Then go straight over the next mini roundabout and right at the third mini roundabout (these are signed to Borrowdale).
Follow the Borrowdale road for several miles.
You will then see a double hump backed bridge to the right which you need to go over (signed Grange).
