Close to ski and spa resorts , Maritsa is only 12 km from Borovets ski resort, Momin Prohod and Pchelinski Spa resorts.Golf is also very easily accessible with the latest Ihtima golf course. The Rila mountains offer spectacular views and the location is also ideal to depart for tourist excursions or trekking in the region. The chalet is a spacious property with its private sauna and a community swimming pool, it features 3 bedrooms (sleeps 6 + 1 chd sofa bed downstairs if required), 2 bathrooms, a fireplace ,central heating, a garden, hifi stereo and satellite TV in all rooms. The Rila mountains offer spectacular views and the location is also ideal to depart for tourist excursions in the region. Borovets / Maritsa area
Maritsa and Borovets are an ideal base for hiking and mountain biking and both are well located on the Rila National Park border. There are many marked trails, with mountain refuges for the adventurous. Mountain bikers can use the chair lift at Borovets. The country features spectacular alpine scenery, river gorges and meadows. The Rila and Samokov Hotels have large, clean indoor swimming pools and gymnasiums at very cheap rates for non-guests.
There is a modern well equipped English speaking 24 hour medical centre and dentist at Borovets. There is an English speaking pharmacy in Borovets and several others in Samokov. There is a large, new supermarket in Samokov(10 minutes by car) selling all the items of food etc that you should need for a holiday. Borovets has several mini-markets. Samokov has an open air food market for local fresh produce, every day, as well as several banks, pharmacies and a post office.
The food is excellent, very cheap and plentiful and there is a large selection of good Bulgarian wines, spirits and beers available at reasonable prices.
How to get there
The closest airport is Sofia, approx 60 Km from Borovets, many budget airlines fly there from the UK. Local transfer and car hire can be arranged.
