Home description
Eagle Rock is like a fairytale castle overlooking the quaint Village of Beli Iskar. Only completed in 2008 and new for this season, the complex has luxury leisure facilities with 2 pools, sauna, steam, massage, jacuzzi, gym & restaurant serving delicious home made meals. It is set in secure landscaped gardens and the mountain views are simply breathtaking.
Borovets is about 4 miles away and there is a shuttle bus from Eagle Rock. There are new high speed ski lifts and a number of new runs and of course a huge variety of bars and eateries. Beli Iskar Village is fast developing with many new apartment blocks, hotels and houses. There are a number of traditional Bulgarian restaurants and bars where a night out costs next to nothing!
Our apartment is quite spacious and newly furnished. It is easily big enough for 4 people to share. Our friends own the apartment next door so we can accommodate larger parties if needed.

The Sofia/Rila Mountains region
The Rila Mountains are a national park and an area of outstanding natural beauty. There are many walks and outdoor activities which can be arranged through the reception at Eagle Rock. Sofia is a bustling cosmopolitan Capital City which has many places of interest including spectacular churches and a cafe style shopping area. Lake Iskar is about a 20 minute drive away and there are a full range of water sports in the summer. The climate has four distinct seasons and the summer can get well into the 30's.
Borovets / Beli Iskar area
There are various local festivals throughout the year. A short drive will take you to The Rila Monastery, seven lakes, Dolna Banya natural hot springs and golf course. Lake Iskar is an inland sea with a whole range of water sports, fishing and relaxation.
Samokov town is less than 10 minutes away and has a really broad spectrum of cafes, restaurants and shops. Designer clothing is abou t25% of the cost in the UK. There is a huge local market there every Monday, 2 new supermarkets and an Olympic standard sports stadium.
How to get there
Regular budget airlines fly to Sofia. Beli Iskar is about a 50-60 minute drive. If necessary a taxi service can be arranged by the complex

Further details indoors: The apartment is quirky as it is not square which give it some character. The furniture is contemporary and bright and there are good kitchen facilities, although with the price of eating out here you would probably not want to cook! The bathroom is between the bedroom and lounge giving extra privacy if the sofa bed is being used.
Eagle Rock is a really special development, way better than your average boxy newbuild. There is a large furnished reception area with leather suites to enjoy snacks or drinks and the leisure facilities are second to none.
Further details outdoors: The apartment has a balcony. The complex is set in private, gated gardens and is set high above the village giving fantastic views of the surrounding Rila Mountains over the rooftops. Arrangements have been made to offer skiing lessons, skidoo, cycling, walking trails, quad biking and pony trkking as this is the heart of the super Borovets project which is a national park.
There is parking to the rear and driving through the mountains is fabulous. Sofia Is about 50 minutes away so if you fancy some culture in a capital city, it's well worth a day out. Lake Iskar is only 20 minutes away and there are a whole range of water sports in the summer.

A 30% deposit is required when booking, balance due 6 weeks before arrival. €30 to be paid to reception for the cleaning.
