Our apartment in the new Daniel Residence is ideal for a fantastic skiing holiday in the oldest Ski resort in the Balkans, Mount Musala being almost 3000m, We are 1000m from the lower ski slopes and beginners area, & lift system which gets you up to the fantastic Rila mountain range and upper ski slopes with off piste sking, the views are breathtaking! Our very comfortable apartment set in the pine forests just a short walk from the town of Borovets through the woods, and a short taxi ride to the town of Samokov.

The Sofia/Rila Mountains region
Mt Musala is almost 3000m above sea level and the Rila mountain range is extensive and only 70km from Sofia airport or city centre, Sofia has its own Mt Vitosha just 6 km from the city and like the Rila mountains is popular for hikers & in the winter local skiers. Mt Musala is the highest mountain of the Rila range which boasts the excellent ski resort of Borovets. In the summer it is visited for its hiking/cycling/quad & motor bikes/horse rides/fishing/hunting & jeep tours. The Rila range has the black Rocks/ the Rila Monastry/ the seven lakes and so much more.

Borovets / Samokov area
Borovets is the oldest Balkan ski resort 70km from Sofia and set high up in the Rila mountains. Famous for its winter sports & warm Bulgarian culture, Borovets is renowned for its night sking & night skidoo rides, every Wednesday the ski & board instructors give a night time show of there skills and the children can tobogan till late on the lit slopes while you enjoy an after dinner drink.
The gondola takes you up to the top and it is great for all levels of skiing/boarding lots of off piste terrain, there are some beautiful green and blue runs through the forest. In the summer these runs are fantastic walks, for the more adventures hikers there are well trodden routes that can take you over night to places you cannot imagine & you will stay at the HUTS with a hut master to feed you. WOW sounds to good! The night life is great fun & the food is excellent and above all not overpriced.
How to get there
Easy Jet / wizz air / Bulgarian airlines / Thompson / Opodo / and many others that you can find on the internet. A car is essensial for a summer holiday to visit the many sites in and around Sofia & the Rila mountains. For your winter ski holiday we look after you as soon as you land at Sofia airport, transfer/ski package/tuition/shuttle.We dont recommend a self drive car for the winter season.
