Our Luxury Flora Residence Apartment is ideal for anyone who loves to be in the centre of the resort, but away from the noise. The apartment is furnished to a high (UK) standard, and is ideally located within the resort being only approx 70 metres from the main gondola station and approx 2 minutes from the nursery slopes. It is also within easy reach of other ski lifts, shops, restaurants, bars etc.

The second floor apartment consists of twin beds, a three-seater sofa bed, a single armchair sofa bed and a kitchen/dining area containing a folding dining table with 4 chairs. The well-stocked kitchen area contains Hob, Oven with Grill, Extractor fan, Fridge/freezer, kettle, pots/pans/cutlery/crockery and utensils (although eating out is cheap). The bathroom boasts a full-size bath (not all do!) complete with overhead power shower and large towel radiator.

The apartment also offers beautiful views of the alpine forest from the south-facing balcony.

The Flora complex offers a wide range of facilities for relaxation and entertainment that guests can use for a small fee. These include an indoor swimming pool, Sauna, Steam Room, and Jacuzzi. In addition, there are several onsite ski store depots.

The Sofia/Rila Mountains region

Whether you’re a skier or a snowboarder, Borovets is the place for you!

Borovets is the oldest and most popular mountain resort in Bulgaria and is famed for being an international family-friendly ski and snowboard resort. It is located among age-old pine woods at 1350m offering picture postcard scenery with tradition and style. The highest pistes are at 2600m on the Northern slopes of the Rila mountain.

There is an excellent network of ski runs (24 slopes, 40km in length) and lifts that range from nursery slopes through to black runs, and the resort caters for all abilities and ages of skiers and snowboarders. The runs which are set in stunning scenery, are arranged with international markings and multi-lingual signs. Also, there are superb ski/snowboard schools within the Borovets resort itself with instructors fluent in foreign languages and some of them are former professional skiers. Snow conditions are among the best in Eastern Europe and the season usually lasts from mid December to mid April.

The Rila mountains are registered in the UN list of representative protected areas and is Bulgaria's largest national park - 81,000 hectares, two thirds of which is forested. The park contains over 100 peaks, with deep and dramatic river gorges, lakes and waterfalls. The national parks authority have marked many trails and built bridges and information boards and there are mountain chalets for hikers to shelter for the night. The area is of special interest to botanists, with a large variety of flora, including some rare species.

--- BOROVETS ---
The resort caters for all standards of skier and snowboarder and in particular, it is ideally suited for beginners and those of intermediate standard. Snowboarders of all levels should find this a great place to practice their skills. There are many "off-piste" routes and sneaky "shortcuts" through the forest parallel to the slopes!

There are horse-drawn sleighs available for a pleasant trip around the resort. For the more adventurous, cross country and biathlon tracks, as well as ski jumps and snow mobiles (Skidoos), are available. Also, several floodlit pistes allow late night skiing.

In addition, Borovets offers fantastic apres-ski and nightlife to suit all ages. There are plenty of bars, cafes, night clubs and discos that stay open into the early hours of the morning. A night out is extremely good value for money with many bars promoting "happy hour" offers. Typically, you can enjoy a nice 3 course meal for under £10!

Borovets is easily accessible with a distance of only 70 km from Sofia (the capital of Bulgaria) and 126 km from the second largest city Plovdiv.

--- SAMOKOV ---
The lively, local town of Samokov is only 6 km away on a straight road. The town has a large, modern supermarket, selling all the food and household products that you would need. There is an excellent fresh fruit and vegetable market and there is a choice of restaurants in the town centre, banks with cash points and a post office.

A return bus operates from Borovets with fares charged at approx 35p, alternatively a taxi will cost approx £3. The town is ideal for shopping and grabbing a bargain, with many items (hats, gloves etc) 1/3 of the price that is charged in Borovets itself (although the prices charged in Borovets are cheap enough!).

• The Bulgarian King's residence, which is just a short walk from the apartment
• The resort offers flights by helicopter above the Borovets area
• Within 20 to30 minutes’ drive there is the highly regarded Ihtiman golf course
• Malyovitsa, a small ski resort for locals is only 45mins away
• Boating facilities/water sports available on the very beautiful and impressive Lake Iskar
• The Rila Monastery (about 90 minutes away) is Bulgaria’s largest and most famous monastery (a UNESCO World Heritage site), founded in 927 AD and hidden high in the Rila mountains
• Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, with its galleries, museums, shops and the magnificent Alexander Nevski church
• the historic city of Plovdiv (126 km away), with its beautiful old town and Roman ruins

--- SUMMER ACTIVITIES ---
Borovets is very much an all-year-round resort, and once the snow melts, visitors can indulge themselves in some fantastic activities. In summer, the surrounding pine forests make an excellent centre for mountain walking and hiking, mountain biking and horse riding. The ski lifts take you to the very peak of the mountain tops for some of the best views in Europe.

• Mount Moussala, Malyovitsa and the seven Rila lakes provide wonderful walks with truly magnificent views
• Mountain biking and horse riding are available within the resort
• Fishing in the many local rivers and lakes
• Relax with the spa facilities offered within the Flora complex
• Chill-out in the evenings watching a DVD in the apartment!

How to get there

Fly to Sofia airport - Borovets is approx 1 hour from the airport.

• Indirect flights are also available from Czech Airlines, Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, WizzAir, SkyEurope and other low cost airlines

• Refunded within 10 working days of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection)

• If you have to cancel you holiday for any reason, we are unable to refund your deposit
• We are also unable to offer you a full refund once all monies have been paid
• You will require a personal holiday insurance in this instance

We require a refundable deposit of £100 in case of damage or breakages. This is to be paid 2 months prior to your arrival (i.e. with the outstanding balance). The deposit will be refunded within 10 working days of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection).

As no refunds of rental payments will be made, we strongly urge you to take out holiday insurance to cover yourself against the risk of a late cancellation.
