About the home

The apartment is ideal for couples, friends or families (maximum 4 people). An ideal retreat for the active and outgoing. At Forest View, you are only 15 minutes away from two excellent standard ski resorts with some of the best affordable skiing in europe. Bulgaria’s top ski resort, Borovets, is only 15kms away where some of best ski facilities can be found along with plenty of exciting nightlife and apres-ski. In the opposite direction, the smaller resort of Malyovitsa can be found. Malyovitsa is great for family orientated ski groups while offering some very challenging runs for more advanced skiers. Govedartsi, as well as being the closest village to Malyovitsa, just 8 km away , with regular public transport to both resorts, also has its own ski facilities. Just outside the village, is a 3km long ski run with ski lift. Stunning views of tree covered mountains, fast flowing rocky river, ski runs and great hill climbing country ! A great place for a winter or summer break.

The Sofia/Rila Mountains region

The majestic Rila Mountains boast a marvellous array of landscapes, including 180 perennial lakes and streams and numerous mineral springs. At 2925 metres Mount Mousala, which towers above Borovets, is the highest peak in the country and is an excellent place for snow activities in the winter and for hiking, mountain biking and horse riding in the summer months.

Places of interest include the RiIa Monastery, Bulgaria's largest and most renowned monastery which is a Unesco World Heritage site. The largest lake, Lake Iskar, is only a short drive away and offers beaches and wakeboarding, water skiing, boat hire and other water activities.

Sofia, Bulgaria's bustling cosmopolitan capital and largest city is approximately 70KM away from Goverdartsi by car. Most of Sofia's sights such as domed churches, art galleries and museums, are handily located in the compact city centre so you can see plenty in a day.

The Borovets / Govedartsi area

Skiing in the Borovets region is very good quality with ski lifts and quality ski runs that benefit from having substantial snow coverage from December through to the beginning of April. For experienced and novice skiers value for money is excellent.

The village of Govedartsi stands 1100 meters above sea level and is situated at the foot of the National park "Rila Mountain". Forest View is centrally located in the Chamonix style village of Govedartsi, commanding amazing unspoilt views over the mountains and village itself. Govedartsi is the largest village in the Borovets region and has a mini ski resort of its own. It is a beautiful village with numerous facilities including ski rentals, restaurants and shops.
Two international standard resorts are nearby (Borovets only a few miles away and Malyovitsa). For summer time, Bulgaria's largest inland lake, Lake Iskar, is just a 20 minute drive away. Here you will find private beaches and great opportunities for fishing, swimming etc. Access from the UK is easy with SOFIA airport only 1 hr away. Even you are not a skier, the beauty and freshness of the area will captivate you. Leave the stresses of modern urban life behind and breathe in the pure mountain air. Enjoy the sunshine, even in the mid winter.

Govedartsi is only a short drive away from the town of Samokov. This typical Bulgarian town has lots to offer such as outdoor swimming pools and restaurants which are very cheap to enjoy. Samokov also has 3 large supermarkets stocking everything you will need for your self-catering stay.
