About the home

The apartment , which was completed in December 2005, is situated in the award-winning Flora complex. It is ideally located within the resort being only approx. 70 metres from the main gondola station. It is also within easy reach of other ski lifts, shops, restaurants, bars etc. This spacious apartment is on the seventh floor, south facing with over 75 sq.m. of living space. It consists of one bedroom and living room both with separate balconies with views of the pistes, a separate kitchenette, bathroom and ski store. The apartment is furnished to a high standard and the complex offers a range of facilities for relaxation and entertainment.

Borovets is a popular ski resort and the most established in Bulgaria. It has very good snow reliability with the season covering from mid-December to mid-April. There are 24 slopes totalling more that 40 km in length, which descend from a high point of 2550 metres above sea level. The runs which are set in stunning scenery, are arranged with international markings and multi-lingual signs. The resort caters for all standards of skier and snowboarder.

For the more more adventurous, cross country and biathlon tracks, as well as ski jumps and snow mobiles, are available. The ski school, which has an international reputation, offers individual and group tuition.

Borovets is pleasantly cool during the summer and there are some great hiking trails in the Rila mountains. In particlar, Mount Moussala, Malyovitsa and the seven Rila lakes provide wonderful walks with truly magnificent views.

The Sofia/Rila Mountains region

Borovets is the oldest and most popular mountain resort in Bulgaria. It is located at 1350m with the highest pistes at 2600 m on the Northern slopes of the Rila mountain. It is set among age-old pine woods, at the foot of Mousala peak (2925 m) the highest one on the Balkan peninsula.

Established at the end of the 19th century Borovets gradually developed into a modern ski resort of high class and luxury hotels, haute-cuisine restaurants and varied leisure-time entertainment opportunities besides the excellent network of ski runs and lifts. The resort is a regular host of various winter sports competitions.

Borovets is easily accessible with a distance of only 70 km from Sofia (the capital of Bulgaria) and 126 km from the second largest city Plovdiv.

Snow conditions are among the best in Eastern Europe and the season usually lasts from Mid December to April

The Borovets area

There are 45 km of pistes varying in difficulty and length for skiing and snowboarding. There are ski runs for beginners, intermediates and advanced skiers, with international markings and multilingual signs. Several floodlit pistes also allow late night skiing. The Borovets ski school has ski instructors fluent in foreign languages and some of them are former professional skiers.

Mountain lovers from all over Europe converge on the resort to partake in skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, ski jumps and biathlon, ski-doo, ice-skating, and night-skiing.

Borovets also offers fantastic apres ski and night-life to suit all ages. A multitude of bars, cafes, night clubs and discos stay open into the early morning. A night out is extremely good value for money especially with special 'happy hour' discounts and a 3 course meal that can be enjoyed for under £10!!

The resort offers flights by helicopter above the Borovets area, so that you can view & enjoy the beautiful nature of the Rila mountain. Slightly further afield is the Rila Monastery (about 90 minutes), Bulgaria’s largest and most famous monastery, founded in 927 AD and hidden high in the Rila mountains.
