The Sofia/Rila Mountains region
If you are a guest of Borovets, but not a skier, you should visit (with an experienced mountaineer) the following charming places in Rila: Mt. Maliovitsa and Mt. Musala. You could also try horse-back riding or you could go fishing. A visit to the Rila Lakes is a must - the serenity of the places and the marvellous landscapes will captivate you. We would also certainly recommend the world famous Rila Monastery (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) or the busy city of Sofia for sightseeing or shopping.
The Borovets area
Borovets has developed into a modern, high-class ski resort of Alpine type with luxury hotels, restaurants, discos, shops and a wide choice of pistes and lifts. It provides excellent conditions for a vast array of winter sports and activities: skiing (night skiing is also available), ski jumping, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, skidooing and biathlon. The night life in the resort is lively, full of fun and entertainment.
The slopes of Borovets have permanent snow cover from December to April. Borovets is famous for its pristine mountain air with a lovely scent of pine woods. There are ski runs for beginners, intermediate and advanced skiers, designed with international markings and multilingual signs.

British Airways, Wizz Air, EasyJet and Bulgaria Air have daily flights from the UK to Sofia. Borovets is just 70km away from Sofia and the transfer takes about an hour. It is advisable however to book the transfer in advance. Let us know if you wish us to arrange that for you.
Located at the entrance of the resort, and yet minutes away from the gondola and the night-life, Borovets Gardens is surrounded by a centuries-old pine forest allowing residents to enjoy a peaceful holiday and yet have convenient access to all the available facilities.
