Close by you will find several restored Black Houses with their original thatched roofs and native Highland Cows.
In the village of Uig, 10 minute drive away, you will find the Isle of Skye Brewery, various local pubs where meals are served, and the ferry terminal for the Outer Hebrides.
You will find a swimming pool in Portree along with restaurants, pubs, cafes, fish & chip shop, clothes shops, jewellers, book shops, craft shops and all the other facilities you would expect in a large village.
