Home description

The apartment is immersed in the beautiful parkland of a game reserve populated with roe deers, wild boars and foxes in the splendid countryside of the Mugello valley area. It is situated in panoramic position at 500 mt. and we are about a 50 minutes by train and 60 minutes drive from the beautiful city of Florence with its important history and museums.

The Tuscany region

Tuscany is one of the most famous and beautiful region in Italy, full of tradition and history sites. The most beautiful cities to visit are: Florence, Siena, Pisa, Lucca and Arezzo. There isn't a best period to visit Tuscany: each season is a wonderful moment to come here!

In Tuscany, at just a stone's throw from Florence, we find Mugello: it is situated among the rolling hills and the tall cypress trees, on the backdrop of the high lofty crests and mountain passes. The incredible landscape, the hospitable, quiet and hard working people, the genuine food, the land of the Medici, the museums, the tradition of arts and crafts, and the ancient churches and remote convents are just outside the gates of the city of Florence.

Borgo San Lorenzo / Vicchio area

Mugello area offers history, culture and quality services in an enchantingly natural setting. Here you find the towns of Vaglia, San Piero a Sieve, Barberino, Scarperia, Borgo San Lorenzo and Vicchio.
The Medici family, whose origins lie in Mugello, have left numerous extraordinary tracs of their power. People can discover castles, villas, convents immersed in a beautiful and austere environment where the unspoiled nature and the ancient transformations of the countryside performed by man live in perfect armony.
This territory offers hikers an infinite number of routes to follow: excursions on foot, by bike and excursions on horseback.
We are about at 20 minutes drive from Scarperia village and the International Racing Circuit of Mugello.

The Lake Bilancino is just a 30 minutes from Vicchio and offers numerous water sports such as canoeing, sailing and windsurfing. In addition, paths for hikers and cyclists are being completed near the banks of the lake, while two beaches have already created for bathers; these offer umbrellas, beach chairs and bar service.

For people who like shopping there is "Barberino Designer Outlet", that is a unique shopping experience; just a half an hour from Vicchio, it offers more than 100 stores of fashion name selling clothing, shoes, accessories and many more.

How to get there

You can reach our apartment by taking the A1 motorway and exiting at Barberino, follow the indications to Borgo San Lorenzo and go through this village; continue straight until Vicchio and, near the village, turn on the left side following road signs to Gattaia / B&B Mugello for about 8,400 km.

"Ryanair" and "Easyjet" offer cheap flights to Pisa and "Meridiana" flies to Florence. In all airports you will have a number of car hire companies.
Local trains run regulary from railaway station in Vicchio village to Florence.

Our apartment has private entrance and access to the garden where you can eat outside during summer and spring seasons. On the ground floor there is a spacious living room with fireplace and TV, kitchen with stove, oven and refrigerator, dining room, one double room with bathroom with shower. On the first floor there is another double room with bathroom with shower + a little bedroom with two twin beds for children until 11/12 years old. During summer and spring seasons breakfast is served in the garden and Antonella will be glad to host you and offering her homemade cakes, cookies and organic jams.

There is a splendid panoramic view that overlooks hills and mountains of Mugello valley and, during Spring and Summer seasons, you can have breakfast or dinner in front of the apartment with outdoor furniture. Being in a game reserve is not difficult during Spring and Summer seasons, to meet young roe deer, foxes with the ability to see, between the branches of the trees, many species of birds: the ideal place for people who love "bird watching" and taking photos.

Swimming pool only available from the end of April until the end of September.

Only a well-behaved dog is allowed.
Refundable breakages deposit of € 300,00 required on arrival to be refunded at your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection).
30% of rental fee due to secure booking payable by bank transfer. The total settlement will be payed at arrival. Credit cards accepted: Visa, Visa electron, Mastercard.

Our prices are inclusive of:

breakfast prepared with organic jams, homemade cakes and biscuits and typical local products (...or you can choose something else!), water, gas, electricity, heating, weekly linen change and cleaning, barbecue and swimming pool.

Prices are not inclusive of:

- washing machine: 6 euro each one.

- Cooking lessons, wine and oil tasting.

- Dinner: 20,00 euro per person, 18,00 euro for children under 12 years old;

- Final cleaning: 35,00 euro.

- To go for a picnic in the woods around our home with a special Guide.

For booking we require 30% deposit payable by bank transfer in Euro and you will pay the settlement at your arrival by credit cards or cash.
