On the pictures you can view more activities on the west coast of Iceland.
Day trips to the Golden Circle:
Only 45 min driving on to the Golden Circle to view the great Gullfoss and the hot spring Geysir. Also on the Golden Circle you will find the historical place Thingvellir (Þingvellir):
Þingvellir is a site of historical, cultural, and geological importance and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Iceland. It is the site of a rift valley that marks the crest of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. It is also home to Þingvallavatn, the largest natural lake in Iceland.
Parliament or Alþingi was established at Þingvellir in 930 and remained there until 1798. Þingvellir National Park was founded in 1930 to protect the remains of the parliament site and was later expanded to protect natural phenomena in the surrounding area. Þingvellir National Park was the first national park in Iceland and was decreed 'a protected national shrine for all Icelanders, the perpetual property of the Icelandic nation under the preservation of parliament, never to be sold or mortgaged.'
The house is located sidelong the spectacular salmon river Langá, one of the greatest salmon rivers in Europe.
Fantastic walking paths from the house, where you can enjoy the peaceful nature.
The house is a one hour drive north from the Reykjavík Capital and 10 minutes from Borgarnes. In Borgarnes you can go to one of the nicest swimming pools in Iceland, play golf at Hamarsvöllur, visit the great Settlement center where you can learn about the Icelandic culture and saga, go to the pub and shop at the cheap Bonus grocery store.
In the north direction, about 50 minutes driving, you will find the old fishermen´s town Stykkishólmur, where you can go sailing, Whale Watching and enjoy bird watching paradise.
You can say about the location of the house that it is midway between the two great National Parks, Snæfellsnes and Thingvellir National Park and only one our from our Capital, Reykjavik.

"SO BAEUTIFUL PLACE"
We stayed in Helluskogur for a week and we really would have liked to stay a few more days. Our kids loved playing out in the nature surrounding the cottage, so some days we just stayed there playing and relaxing. It was so nice! The location was really good and it was a short drive to a lot of beautiful places, which suited us really well, travelling with small children. Heidrun and Robert were very helpful with everything and gave us so good tips about what to do. We are so glad that you told us about all the swimming pools in the area, the kids loved it and we loved the hot tubs!
Thanks for everything and positive attitude, Heidi and Rob :)
Thanks for the nice review and welcome back anytime. Heidi and Rob

"RELAXING, COZY AND BEAUTIFUL"
Our stay in Helluskogur was so nice. The house made us feel at home right from the beginning. It is really cozy and comfortable and had everything we needed. The nature surrounding the house is beautiful and we really liked sitting out on the patio in the evenings, listening to the birds singing and enjoying the view. It was fantastic getting away from the big city to this wonderful, quiet place. It was exactly what we needed. We are already planning on coming back next year or even next winter. We had been there before in the area because we liked it, we came back and concentrated on Snaefellsnes national park which was absolutely amazing experience. Thank you so much Heidrun and Robert.
Thank you very much for this nice review. Welcome back anytime. Heidi and Rob
