Château Bellevue stands on a hilltop in a private park surrounded by an old stone wall. The Villa Château Bellevue is the transformed former coach house and is located next to the château. This peaceful retreat is perfectly located for visits to the famous wine areas of Bordeaux. Just take the river ferry 5 min. away and you are in the middle of the Medoc. You can continue to drive another 30 min. on calm country roads and you reach one of the big sweet water lakes (Etangs) and the endless pristine Atlantic beaches. All water sport activities are provided there. Specially the lakes with their shallow beaches are perfect and save for children.
The Villa Château Bellevue provides comfortable accommodations up to 8 people for self-catering. Apart from that you can rent rooms at the Château Bellevue (B&B). A wonderful swimming pool and the beautiful garden/park guarantee a relaxing time at the Villa and the Château. In the evening you can have a barbecue and watch the stunning view from the elevated position with looks over the river and the word famous Medoc Chateau Margeaux on the horizon.

The Villa Château Bellevue provides the perfect setting not only for wine lovers, but for those who want to make the most of the beautiful countryside and famous towns and villages of the Bordeaux region. The property offers all mod cons whilst retaining the charm and elegance associated with an 19th century château. Sitting on the terrace one has views of the Gironde and Isle rivers. The thriving market town of Blaye and and the village of Plassac are near by. You should not forget the Citadelle of Blaye (Unesco world heritage), the Roman excavations in Plassac and the prehistoric caves with scratchings from 35.000 years ago.

From its elevated position, Château Bellevue overlooks the river Gironde. The village of Plassac, itself offering numerous opportunities for wine tasting within walking distance. The Château owners delight in introducing their guests to the area with a tour of their own cellar. Of course many of the other châteaux offer the opportunity to visit and buy direct. The Blaye and Bourgh wine production area provides probably the best price value for Bordeaux wines.
Although set amidst vineyards, the Villa Château Bellevue is conveniently situated for local amenities. Plassac has a harbour, a local store, a wine museum, lots of châteaux, a baker and a Roman museum as well as a small restaurant. More extensive facilities, including supermarkets, a good range of shops and numerous restaurants, can be found 3km away in the market town of Blaye.

Booking will be week wise starting on Saturdays A well-behaved dog is allowed but sorry, no cats. Strictly no smoking except outside the house. Refundable breakages deposit of € 500 required on arrival, to be refunded within two weeks of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection). 30% of rental fee via Paypal / Credit card due with reservation to secure booking, non-refundable. Rest in cash when arriving before moving in. Property not suitable for children who can't swim.
