The Aquitaine region of France is famous for its wine and gastronomic delights. Many famous wines hail from Bordeaux and Bergerac and the area is renowned for its fois gras and truffles.
There is a lot of history and therefore a lot of interesting regional culture to enjoy. Bordeaux itself boasts beautiful architecture, such as the Place de la Bourse and the church of St. Pierre. Bordeaux also offers many museums and shopping facilities.
The region has a pleasant climate and is generally very sunny, especially in the Spring and Summer.
