Les Chlorophylles also makes the perfect base for exploring the wine growing regions of Medoc, St Emillion, Sauternes and many more.

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Gironde region
Situated on the 45th parallel Lacanau has a unique micro climate with many days of sunshine. Bordeaux offers all the advantages of one of France's largest cities with beautiful boulevards lined with designer shops and gourmet restaurants. For wine enthusiasts there are some of France’s most famous Chateaus close by with the Maison du Vin in both Bordeaux and St Emillion well worth a visit. St Emillion offers a fantastic day out with its walled old town. Vineyard tours and wine tasting can be booked from the tourist office. The bay of Arcachon is another area which should be included on any itinery with its world famous Oysters, Europe’s largest sand dune (Dune du Pila) a water park (Aqua City) and the beautiful town of Arcachon itself.
Bordeaux / Lacanau area
The local area has enough to keep everyone interested no matter what the length of your stay with long sandy beaches, surfing, water sports, horse riding, golf course and many cycle tracks. How to get there
Cheap flights with bmibaby and flybe to Bordeaux airport which is a 45 minute drive. There are also buses which run from Bordeaux Central Train Station and stop right outside the complex. Cross channel ferries involve a 6 hour drive through France to the South West coast.
