Villa | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 6
Villa Samprasada (Sanskrit word meaning ‘serenity’) is the place to relax, unwind and recuperate in luxury.
By Day… The villa presents some wonderful indoor/outdoor lifestyle options; swimming, sunbathing on the comfortable sun-loungers around the pool, sipping on a cool tall drink as you ponder your next move. Or maybe the pure bliss of a traditional Thai massage!
By Night…The villa becomes a wonderland for the senses as the soft mood lighting transforms the villa into a romantic tropical paradise. Imagine the gentle murmur of quiet conversation, the flicker of soft candlelight and the sound of music floating in the air with three zones of outdoor speakers. This villa can become what you want it to be; a private oasis away from the rest of the world or a magnificent entertaining environment.
Villa Samprasada is the perfect hideaway haven for one or two couples or children, who seem to never leave the swimming pool. Each couple has their own private accommodation wing with total privacy and space. And each couple's bedroom looks out onto the pool.
As you would expect from a villa of this caliber, almost every detail of the interior and exterior finish is flawless. The villa recently graced the front cover of Koh Samui’s prestigious Real Estate Magazine for its contemporary design. Just this year it graced the cover of Avenida magazine, a Dutch Architectural magazine.
The furniture, the furnishings and the many traditional artifacts displayed throughout, capture the true spirit of Balinese culture and reflect a sense of peace and harmony.
At Villa Samprasada your every need has been considered.
If you play golf, grab your clubs. There are two magnificent courses on the island. The newest course, Bophut Hills is literally one minute’s drive away from the villa.
And the villa is only 5 minutes drive away from popular Fisherman's Village in Bohput (on Bophut Beach) with its many boutique shops and world class seaside restaurants and cafe.. You have a complete assortment of restaurants here...Italian, French, Mexican, Thai, Steak and Seafood, Indian.... Quoting from a travel guide: "Fisherman's Village is one of the few places on Samui that retains so much of the island's original Thai-Chinese atmosphere..." And on Friday nights the village closes it's road and becomes a walking street.
The beach itself encompasses some 2km of white sandy shoreline fringed by coconut palms and the calm waters of the bay make this a popular spot for playing or relaxing...
And just a short twenty minutes drive you find yourself in Chaweng where the main tourist shopping and nightlife in Koh Samui is located...
Due to the hillside location of the villa you should rent a vehicle. Rental vehicles can be easily arranged to suit your requirements. You can take taxis, but they are more expensive on Samui so most people rent vehicles. And you are only five minutes drive from Fisherman's Village and the beach. "Three left turns and one right turn and you're at the beach!" as one of our renters once said to us.
You are guaranteed a unique holiday experience when you stay here and we hope you love the villa as much as we do.

|Further details indoors|
The villa has two separate standalone bedroom wings---each with it's own private bathroom. Each wing has a shower plus each wing has a large outdoor Balinese Tub (one can hold up to six people). Each bedroom wing has a King Size bed, and in one of the wings we can bring in a single bed which can sleep one or two people (depending on their size) or the couch can sleep one (so we say a maximum of six people in the villa). There are three TV's in the villa (one in each bedroom) , two connected to UBC Cable and all have DVD's. The villa has a full surround sound system with outdoor speakers in three zones, all of which have dimmers.
|Further details outdoors|
The villa is extremely private and extremely romantic--great for skinny dipping (or not). While it has a sea view---it is a very very very distant sea view as while it is only five minutes to the beach, the villa is perched looking across the island hence the sea view is in the far far distance. We are often asked if the pool and garden are shared by someone---as some people think it looks like part of a hotel, etc. but it is a private yard and pool---with a large dining room table (that isn't featured in the pictures you have seen), and the outdoor Sala now has very comfortable cushions (and outdoor speakers). The villa has one parking spot directly in front plus there is an area just across the street that is cleared that can hold multiple vehicles.
To book, 50% is due upon booking/confirmation and the final 50% is due one month before arrival (two months before arrival for the Christmas/New Year holiday period). I take Visa/or MasterCard or you can wire directly to my bank account.
As this is a "one of" villa and we block it to other renters when you rent, we don't accept cancellations so we always advise folks to book trip cancellation insurance. Check out time is 10:30AM and checkin time is 3PM, unless in the days just prior to your arrival or departure we know no one is preceding you or following you---then we can be flexible. Maid service is 3x a week, a welcome basket is included and one airport pickup and one airport drop off is included with each booking.
"Oh," the wonderful woman who manages my home has her own fleet of rental cars and 90% of my renters rent them directly from her---easier and cheaper than Hertz or Avis and the car will be waiting for you at the villa when you arrive. If you have a baby she can arrange to rent you a crib.
A $500 damage security deposit is due three days before arrival and refunded promptly afterward (and short of breaking a few glasses no one ever seems to do any damage to the villa). The 8 baht a unit electrical fee is deducted from this---which usually averages $15 to $25 USD a day, although you can flat it out at $20 a day in advance.
We always want to make your stay on the island a great one---and please feel free to ask any questions...
The Koh Samui region
As Wikipedia says...
Ko Samui island of Surat Thani Province (or Koh Samui) or often, simply Samui as it is referred to by locals, is an island off the east coast of the Kra Isthmus in Thailand, close to the mainland Surat Thani town and in Surat Thani Province. It is Thailand's third largest island after Ko Chang and Phuket, with an area of 228.7 km2 and a population of over 50,000 (2008) attracting 1.5 million tourists per year. It is rich with natural resources, white sandy beaches, coral reefs and coconut trees.
Ko Samui is located in the Gulf of Thailand, about 35 km northeast of Surat Thani town (9°N, 100°E). The island measures some 25 km at its widest point. It is surrounded by about sixty other islands, which compose the Ang Thong Marine National Park (Mu Ko Ang Thong National Park) and include other tourist destinations (Ko Phangan, Ko Tao and Ko Nang Yuan).
The central part of the island is an almost uninhabitable jungle mountain, Khao Pom, peaking at 635 m. The various lowland areas are connected together by a single 51 km road, running mostly along the coast to encircle the bulk of the island.
The old capital is Nathon, on the southwest coast of the island. It remains the major port for fishing and inter-island transportation. Nathon is the seat of the regional government, and the true commercial hub of the Samui locals. It has a charming pace, and is almost small enough to walk everywhere. The old Chinese shop houses along the middle street whisper of an exotic history.
Each of Samui's primary beaches is now also nominally considered as a small town, due to the number of hotels, restaurants and nightlife that have sprung up in recent years.
The island was probably first inhabited about 15 centuries ago, settled by fishermen from the Malay Peninsula and Southern China. It appears on Chinese maps dating back to 1687, under the name Pulo Cornam. The name Samui is mysterious in itself. Perhaps it is an extension of the name of one of the native trees, mui, or from the Malay word Saboey, meaning "safe haven". Ko is the Thai word for "island".
Until the late 20th century, Ko Samui was an isolated self-sufficient community, having little connection with the mainland of Thailand. The island was even without roads until the early 1970s, and the 15 km journey from one side of the island to the other involved a whole-day trek through the mountainous central jungles.
Ko Samui has a population of about fifty-five thousand (source: Samui Mayor's Office) and is based primarily on a successful tourist industry, as well as exports of coconut and rubber. It even has its own international airport, Samui Airport, with flights daily to Bangkok and other major airports in Southeast Asia such as Hong Kong and Singapore.
The Villa is located just fifteen minutes drive from Fisherman's Village in Bophut, a wonderful town situated at Water's edge. It's our favorite part of the island and we go there almost daily---as it has great restaurants and cafes and bars (the more adult bars are towards Chaweng and Lamai---Samui keeps its family feel although some of the bars still close after 2AM). On Friday nights Fisherman's Village closes its street and becomes a walking street---which we go to every Friday night when we're in town.
