At The Chalets you will find four Self-catering cottages, close to the village of Boot. Each chalet is spacious and beautifully furnished. Set in large, mature riverside gardens on the banks of the river Esk. The Chalets have been awarded 4 stars by the English Tourist Board for self-catering accommodation in The Lake District. Three cottages are able to sleep four and one is able to sleep five, all have double-glazing and central heating. One chalet is able to accommodate a very well behaved house trained dog.
The large living/dining area is a great family space. Books, DVD's, games and magazines, comfy sofas, discrete lighting and an LCD TV with DVD player make the living room cosy and homely. The fully equipped kitchen provides you with everything you need to cater for yourselves on holiday, whether it is cheese on toast or a full Sunday roast. If the weather is right, why not use the BBQ area in the garden.
Each chalet has two generously sized bedrooms, one double and one twin. All the bedrooms are able to accommodate a cot, which we can provide if needed.
The pristine bathroom contains a bath with shower over. Complimentary bath products and large, fluffy bath towels will help you to relax and unwind after a day out on the hills.
Use The Chalets as your mountain biking accommodation in The Lake District. Use our hire bikes to go mountain biking in the Lake District, or bring your own. We have safe storage and bike wash facilities and good knowledge of where to ride. Your never more than an hours drive from some of the best riding in the UK.

The Lake District
You can access all areas of the Lake District from these popular self-catering holiday cottages. Most of the areas can be reached within an hours drive. Visit Beatrix Potter's cottage in Hawkshead; Mountain bike on the forest tracks at Grizedale, sample their fantastic coffee and cakes at the Forest Café before going 'Ape' on the high ropes course through the trees. Ambleside is a great place for a day of retail therapy. An abundance of shops and just as many places to eat and drink. Why not treat yourself to a Spa day at The Salutation Hotel? Visit Wordsworth House and grave, in Grasmere, or walk in The Langdales. Keswick, offers a leisure centre, good shopping, numerous walks and boating on Derwent Water. From here you could also visit the beautiful valley of Buttermere. For the children among us South Lakeland Wild Animal park can be found just outside Barrow in Furness, 50 minutes away. It shouldn't be forgotten that we are just 15 minutes away from the beautiful sandy beaches of Cumbria's West Coast.
Eskdale is a beautiful valley in the heart of the Lake District National park. The Chalets are set in a stunning riverside
location close to the village of Boot.
Boot village offers traditional Inns, one of the oldest working watermills, a local crafts shop and a village shop.
Eskdale is surrounded by the biggest, deepest and steepest in England. Sca Fell, England's highest Mountain, can be
conquered in a day from The Chalets. At the top of the valley you will find England's steepest road, The Hard Knott pass. Here you will also find the Roman Fort. The Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway, Locally known as La'al Ratty, winds it's way down through the valley to the sea, from Eskdale to Ravenglass, perhaps England's prettiest train journey.
Eskdale can provide you with a new mountain to climb each day and just as many gentle riverside strolls and valley walks. Discover the secret tarn, the quaint church or the Stunning waterfalls at Stanley Ghyll.
