Home description

The 2 bedroom gite, part of an 18th century Provençal mas, has its own separate entrance and has been recently renovated to a high standard. The accommodation comprises 2 bedrooms each with its own private bath/shower room. The large light and airy lounge/dining room with a high ceiling and exposed beams has stunning views of the perched villages of Bonnieux and Lacoste.

The property is set in the heart of the Luberon National Park and has views across our orchard and the local vineyards. In the distance to the north is Mont Ventoux. In the nearby villages, you can experience typical Provençal cuisine and visit the markets and the local artisans.

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Vaucluse region

La Marechale is set in an area with some of the villages having been been classed as the most beautiful in France, all within a short drive away. Nearby , is the famous Pont Julien (27 BC) and the towns of Apt ( world famous for its glace fruit) and Cavaillon (with it's rich heritage) are a short drive away

The area is ideal for walking and cycling or for simply browsing the local markets. Visit Isle sur La Sorque, famous for it's antique and bric-a-brac market, see the ochre deposits at Roussillon and visit the nearby lavender museum at Cabrieres. The historic city of Avignon is just under half an hour away where you can tour the city by boat or take a trip on le petit train.


Bonnieux area

Bonnieux is the one of the most beautiful perched towns of the north of the Luberon and is part of the golden triangle of Gordes-Roussillon-Bonnieux . The town characterizes itself by its two churches, its walls, the ancient town hall, its remarkable streets and a number of old structures, all of which give Bonnieux it's unique charm.

There are a number of cafes and restaurants in the village and the area was featured in the film 'A Good Year.
The Market is on Friday mornings and the town also has a number of local shops including, boulangeries, a butchers, a small supermarket and a selection of art and craft shops. The summer sees a host of fetes and festivals throughout the area


How to get there

By Air - Marseille Airport approximately 60 minutes, Nimes Airport approximately 90 minutes, Avignon Airport 25 minutes.

By Car - The A8 autoroute is approximately 20 minutes from Bonnieux.

By Train - The TGV train station is located in Avignon and is approximately 30 minutes away

A 100 Euro refundable security deposit is payable to the owners on arrival and will be refunded at the end of the stay (Subject to satisfactory property inspection).
Bed linen and towels( including pool towels ) are provided.
25% deposit payable at the time of booking.
Balance payable 6 weeks before arrival.
Change-over days are normally Saturdays.
