Godremamog watermill offers a fantastic way to get away from it all in a beautiful secluded valley. It's wheel has been in place since 1885. Its four apartments each sleep 4, allowing lots of flexibility from couples to parties of 16. Please go to the owners' website to check the availability of individual apartments. We also have a cottage (Park Villa) just 300 yards down the valley which sleeps 8 and where dogs are welcome.

There are 12 acres of grounds with riverside gardens all around the mill. The garden next to the wheel has a hot tub, swim4spa swimming pool, which is heated all year round, and a BBQ hut sitting 16, which allows you to BBQ whatever the weather is doing. Beyond the gardens are meadows and woods as far as the eye can see. You can fall asleep to the sound of the mountain stream tumbling past the mill.

It's an ideal base for exploring West Wales, with castles, coast paths and the sandy beaches of Pembrokeshire and Cardigan Bay nearby.

Further details outdoors

Each apartment has access out into the garden with a seating area just outside the door.

There are gardens all around the mill, with lots of places to sit and watch the river or contemplate the trees, including two beautiful pergolas, next to the river, made from materials taken from the woodland all around you. There are steps down to the waterside so that you can paddle in the river. You can chill in the summer house, which is well stocked with books, CDs and games.

The garden next to the waterwheel is fenced and contains a patio with a hot tub, BBQ hut (where you can BBQ whatever the weather) and Swim4Spa - a swimming pool where you swim against a current. It's heated so that you can swim even in December. So it doesn't matter what the weather is doing, you can still have a lovely time at the mill.

There is a woodland trail which climbs up the hillside and into the trees, offering wonderful views of the valley, you can explore the riverside meadows and there are lots of public footpaths which allow you to explore the whole valley without getting the car out..

There is also a shared laundry and drying room with a washing machine and dishwasher.

There is plenty of room for parking and you can drive right up to the mill entrance to unload.

The waterwheel still turns under water power - you can watch it turn as you BBQ. We have just installed a hottub, Swim Spa(Combined hotub and small swimming area in which you have to swim against a current generated by a pump) and a BBQ hut which enables up to 16 people to have a BBQ irrespective of the weather.

Further details

The extensive grounds are shared with other holiday makers and the owners. Please note that the wheel is very large and has been fenced off for safety.

300 yards down the valley is another cottage - Park Villa, which sleeps 8 and where well behaved dogs are welcome.

The Pembrokeshire region

There is so much to do in West Wales - whatever the weather. Whether you're into walking, cycling, birdwatching, golf, fishing, art, horse riding, good food, railways or adventurously leaping off cliffs, you'll find plenty of opportunities.

We are 25 minutes drive from the start of both the Pembrokeshire coastal path and the Ceredigion coast path, which total 246 miles of glorious walking. If you prefer cycling to walking, the Brechfa Forest mountain trails are 30 minutes drive from the mill and there are plenty of gentle cycle paths like the Millennium Trail along the coast at Llanelli.

There is so much history here - our valley itself has been famed in story for over a thousand years. The Preselli mountains are nearby, the origin of the bluestones at Stonehenge. There are more castles per square mile in Wales than anywhere else in the world and we have our fair share with 30+ castles in West Wales. Newcastle Emlyn castle is just 10 minutes drive away.

The wildlife is stunning - you can take boat trips out to see dolphins and seals. Guests have spotted dolphins right inside New Quay harbour. For those guests who prefer catching fish to watching them, we are in the middle of the Teifi and Towi sea-trout fishing area.

For the more adventurous, there is coasteering if you like leaping off rocks, surf lessons for cool dudes or laser combat if you fancy shooting your friends and family.

Boncath

Within a half hour drive of Godremamog Mill, you will find:

- Cenarth Adventure Centre with laser quest, paintballing and archery

- Newcastle Emlyn, with its independent shops, galleries, antiques centre and castle (free entry)

- The National Woollen Museum - free to visit and fascinating, especially for children

- The Cenarth Coracle Centre - a very entertaining way to find out about an ancient craft still used around here.

- The Teifi Marshes wildlife reserve with both freshwater and saltwater marsh habitats. There are lots of birds to watch from the hides. Water buffallo are used to manage the reserve. The cafe there does great lunches.

- Poppit Sands, a huge sandy beach with summer lifeguards, dunes, rock pools and boats bobbing on the estuary.

- The Brechfa Forest mountain bike trails

- Fforest for kayaking, rafting, coasteering, surfing, climbing, bushcraft etc

- Llangranog with its lovely beach and coves, superb fish and chips and ice-cream to remember.

- Mwnt - a good place to spot dolphins. There's an ancient church and a stunningly beautiful beach.

- Caws Cenarth cheese factory - one of our many excellent local food suppliers, Caws Cenarth has won many national and international awards.

- Lots and lots of local pubs and restaurants serving excellent meals.

- Enough walks to keep you busy for a very, very long time, including the start of both the Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion coastal paths.

"Diamond in the Cych Valley!"

The Godremamog Mill is a very special place
Stayed here with my girlfriend as well as my mother and father. Bobbin Box was great and had everything we needed (including a huge selection of movies for a rainy nigh).
We took full advantage of the hot tub and a on of a kind pool. We also used the Finnish BBQ hut to cook a fabulous dinner (Sam was kind enough to provide the charcoal).
A number of excellent walks are available through the forest and villages surrounding along with a nature walk that Chris and Sam have built.
Highly recommended, thanks Chris and Sam for a great stay!

Thank you for taking the time out to write a review for us and for your very kind words. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your time at the mill. We enjoyed having you stay here and hope to see you again.

"Hen Party from Coventry"

Godremamog Watermill is absolutely stunning and is set in the middle of a wood with a stream and beautiful gardens. The apartments are completely self contained and have all the facilities you need to be self sufficient including a microwave, fridge, cooker, toaster, dish washer etc. We made full use of the hot tub, pool and barbeque house and ate in there every night. We were a group of 13 ladies on a hen party so were rather loud and the proprietors (Sam and Chris) couldn't have been more hospitable and warm (they do live on site in the top floor apartment). We definitely recommend Godremamog Watermill.

Ladies, thank you for taking time out to write a review when you are so busy coming up to the wedding. It was great fun having you here and we do hope to see you again. All the very best for the wedding.

"Relaxing, tranquil and beautiful natural surroundings"

We stayed at Parc Villa and had a fantastic few days in this beautiful, peaceful location. Chris and Sam gave us a warm welcome and were very helpful and friendly. We particularly loved the fields, the woodland and of course, the hot tub! The house has a lovely cosy, comfortable feel and is of a high standard - clean, well-equipped and tastefully decorated. We enjoyed the beach at Penbryn and walks by the River Teifi. There is plenty to do in the area with a young family and we would definitely like to return soon!

Thank you for taking the time out to write a review for us - it means a lot to us.
It was lovely to have you staying at Park Villa, which is a new venture for us - we have only just finished refurbishing it and we're so pleased that you found it so comfortable. We hope to see you again soon.

"A Tranquil Oasis"

This was our fourth stay at Godremamog Mill. The hosts Sam and Chris are so welcoming and friendly. Nothing is to much trouble for them.
The apartment has everything you need including the little extras like teatowels, handwash, washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets.
There are laundry facilities on site which are so helpful for drying towels/swimwear after spending time in the swim spa and hot tub. The hamper of local produce you receive if you stay for 7 days or more is such a thoughtful touch and so welcome after a long journey.
Godremamog Mill is a wonderful place to relax and unwind. If you need to get away from the stresses of life this is the place to be. We will definitely be back.

Thank you for taking the time out to write a review for us. We really enjoyed seeing you and hope that you'll be back soon.

"Excellent.. Highly recommend"

We stayed at the Mill with friends back in July as a base for us to attend a friends wedding.
Upon arrival it was nice to see a personal touch welcoming us all individually by first names (it's the little things which count). Sam & Chris who run the place then greated us and were very welcoming and showed us where everything was and how it all worked (even when it was raining).
Despite the rain this didn't stop us all from enjoying the hot tub, pool and indoor BBQ one bit. Highly recommend embracing this if you go.
The gardens and hot tub were also a great way to recover a sore head from the wedding with nothing but the sound of the stream and a gorgeous early morning sun.
The rooms are big enough for 4 people to enjoy and have everything you need including Welsh treats to go with your tea or coffee.
The Mill and the location truly are absolutely gorgeous and it was difficult to leave at the end of our weekend. Highly recommend.

"Excellent idyllic holiday location"

The Mill is located in a beautiful tranquil setting and Sam/Chris are the most perfect hosts.

You can get away from it all at the Mill or travel relatively short distances (c1 hour) to some wonderful coastland walks and National Trust properties. We would strongly recommend trips to St Davids, Tenby, Saundersfoot, Dinefwr Castle and the National Trust gold mines.

Best to use a Sat Nav to get around as the area is very remote.

It was lovely to see you here at the mill again and we're so pleased that you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for taking time to write a review for us.
