About the home

The ground floor consists of one large livingroom; separate dining room, large kitchen, library, TV-room, large hall, powder room, lobby, and a double garage with stock room.
The upper floor consists of three bedrooms, two bathrooms (the master bedroom with en suite bathroom). Each bedroom has it’s own balcony or terrace. There is also a very large patio on the upper floor.

The entire house is tastily well furnished with Scandinavian high quality furniture and is fully equipped ready for your enjoyment. The kitchen and laundry are well equipped with all modern conveniences. There are supplies of superior quality cutlery, table setting, kitchenware, linen, and towels.

The villa has a swimming pool and a large pool-deck/ patio. There is a large gazebo (100sqm) for relaxation, which is mainly built to accommodate social events such as weddings.
The master bedroom has a queen size bed (180x200cm), en suite bathroom and a large walk-in closet. Bedroom # 2 has two beds (90x200cm each), which can be used separately or as a double bed. Bedroom # 3 has two beds (1100x200cm each), which can be used separately or as a double bed. Tobago offers you a holiday of your lifetime. Welcome to Paradise!

Villa de Lena has an outstanding architecture. It is built on 4500sqm of flat land embracing a lovely flower garden. The peaceful location is a natural sanctuary for several different species of birds. The property offers easy access to the Caribbean sea which is only 300m away. Shopping lies within walking distance. There are excellent restaurants and bars in the neighbourhood. A five-minute drive can get one to the Airport or to anyone of the two 18-hole international golf courses.

Hospitality: Daily maid service, washer and dryer, hair dryer, out door gas grill, cable-TV, CD/radio, Internet access, telephone, telefax, chessboard and dartboard.

Beach towels are provided. The villa is totally well furnished with bed linen and other necessities to ensure a memorable holiday.

Shopping, baby-sitting, dinner chef are available at extra cost.

Smoking and pets are unfortunately not allowed inside the villa.

Weddings & Social Events
The reception area/ Gazebo is 100m² large. There are only 2 walls, allowing wide-open space with Roman Columns and balusters surrounding the rest of the building. There is a large circular honourary area suitable for the Table of Honour. This area is elevated a ½-staircase. There is also a ½-moon shaped area suitable for the Master of Ceremonies and /or Disc Jockey / orchestra. This area is also elevated a ½-staircase.

The unit includes a bar / serving-counter equipped with a small refrigerator and hot plate i.e. a small electrical cooking unit. We provide 2 beautiful high-back chairs that we call the “Bride & Groom chairs” or Honourary Chairs.

There are 2 entrances /exits leading to / from the swimming pool which has a very large pool deck / patio.

Villa de Lena is secluded but absolutely not isolated. It is however located only 1.5km from most activities and the two of the best beaches in Tobago.

Daily housekeeping is available. Baby sitting can be arranged at extra cost. There is an attractive car rental associated with the villa.

The Tobago region

Tobago is the pearl of the Caribbean islands, lying some 10km off the Venezuelan coast. In 1888 it was linked to Trinidad in a single government administration. The two islands lie only 33km apart. Trinidad has an area of 4 828km² while Tobago covers a mere 300km² . It has a central spine of rolling hills and highlands of lush rain forest.
The lowlands are covered with coral soil, shrubs and cultivated fruits and vegetables. Tobago is tranquil, relatively undiscovered and unspoiled by tourists. It has a rich variety of birds, flowers and marine life. There are two internationally recognized, attractive golf courses. The island has justifiably been named Robinson Crusoe Island. Its beauty is echoed by its friendly people, beautiful beaches and coral reefs.

Tobago´s weather: Average temperature is 29ºC(82ºF). June to December is the wet season with rainfall mostly in short sharp bursts. Cool breezes blow constantly, but never become chilly.

Clothing - What to wear?: Light comfortable wear, such as shorts, wraps and sundresses is a must for daytime. Eveningwear is classy but cool and women are advised to bring along a cocktail dress for that special night.

Eating out: Tobago’s restaurants offer every thing from delicious elegant cuisine to tasty beach snacks.

Entertainment: Nightlife in this tranquil little island is limited. A popular choice consists of live music and floor shows highlighting traditional dances, songs and folklore. There are a few discos/night clubs in the Crown Point/Shirvan areas.

Carnival: :This festival is celebrated extensively in both Trinidad and Tobago. The climax is on Monday and Tuesday before Easter Ash Wednesday. Major components of the spectacle are Calypso, Steelband-music and the Masquerade ‘playing mass’ or being a member of a costumed Carnival band. The festival is flamboyant, joyous and peaceful.

Driving in Tobago: A valid Driver’s License is required.

Golf: Tobago has two world-class championship courses. The Mount Irvine golf course, built on land which rises in natural terraces from the sea. The course covers 127 acres and is 6 793 yards long. It offers immaculate green, wide-open fairways and breathtaking views of the sparkling Caribbean Sea. The second is Tobago Plantations Golf & Country Club, which is an 18-hole championship standard Plantation course with its sister 9-hole Sugar Mill course. This course is just over 7 000 yards.

Water sports: Professional personnel maintain a high standard of safety in conducting colourful Water Sports programs at different sites. Deep Sea Fishing, Snorkeling, Water Skiing, Wind Surfing, Sailing and Jet-Skiing can easily be arranged.

Rain forest: Experienced guides conduct trips into the most protected Rain Forest in the Western Hemisphere and to the famous Gold and Silver Waterfall.

The Bon Accord / Crown Point area

There is an absence of undulating landscape in the Crown Point and Bon Accord area, which differs from the rest of Tobago. There is an International Air Port at Crown Point. The region is central for most activities. Two of the most attractive beaches, Pigeon Point and Store Bay are located here.

Glass bottom boats make daily tours to the Bucoo Coral Reef which is just of the local cost line. The Caribbean Sea in this area is calm and tempting. The Reef protects the shores from strong water-current and waves in contrast to the Atlantic costline. Diving and water soprts are very popular. In early August one can witness or participate in the Great Race, which is an annual Boat Race between the cost of Trinidad and Tobago.

Guests will be met at the local Air Port in Tobago. The escort to the villa will cost US$10.00 / Per person with a 50% increase rate during 22:00hrs and 06:00hrs. Note that this price includes your return trip form the villa to the airport on departure. Make your own local arrangement, payment to be made in cash to the representative who escorts you to the villa.

“Very enjoyable stay” Our experience of the Villa was that it is well kept spacious and very comfortable for 6 people. It is near the sea but not a bathing beach so the road is quiet and free from souvenir vendors. The grounds are large and well kept with beautiful flowers. Tip: If you are arriving late ask the housekeeper to provide a light supper. There is a small shop at the end of the road in walking distance for those without a car.

“Excellent did not want to leave and definitely intend to return” The fact that the owner sent this link for me to review shows his confidence in this location. It is more than any vacation villa needs to keep guests comfortable, happy and in all out vacation mode. The house has everything needed including 2 huge flat screen tvs, sound system, AC, numerous fans, internet & desktop computer and wireless accesss, all kitchen utensils, grill, huge pool with a table near to outlets, phones in many rooms that can receive calls and gazebo if desired. The beds sleep 6 comfortable and 3 cots are available for purchase. All requests are met with immediate responses. The only annoyance are the mosquitoes at night however one can stay in the pool, use OFF, plug in the provided mosquito shocker or drink so much you do not feel the bites or the mosquitoes quickly die! I have already recommended to many friends & family and now worry about availability when I am ready to return. And the guest book located by kitchen phone includes many prior guests recommendations for restaurants/ tours/ taxi services etc. The price especially was more than reasonable for all provided. Thank you for making my special date of 11.11.11 special!
