Lake House (chalet)

Home description

The house has three bedrooms, including a grand master bedroom and two twin rooms - in one of these the beds can be pushed together to make a double. The sofa also becomes a double bed. There are two bathrooms, both wih shower and one with a bath (no queuing for the loo!), a fully equipped kitchen, and a large living area with a wood burning stove, extendable dining room table and 8 chairs and an enormous sofa. There is also cable television and a DVD player with a selection of DVDs.
The countryside is amazing, and the chalet is less than five minutes walk from the lake, which is set in the bowl of the mountains. Activities include in walking, hiking, climbing, boating, canoeing, swimming, fishing, climbing, biking and skiing in the winter, and that's just in the immediate area! A short drive away can also find riding, golf and white water sports. There is an aqua park in Bohinj Bistrica with water slides, and a swimming pool complex at the Golf Hotel in Bled. Bled itself is a charming town where you can visit the castle on the hill, or the island on the lake, not to mention great restaurants and shopping. Ljubljana itself is only an hour and a half drive. Or you could find the little bar by the lake, have a glass of wine and relax!

The Gorenjska region

An area of mountains and lakes with warm, sunny summers and cold, snowy winters. The countryside is amazing, and the chalet is less than five minutes walk from the lake, which is set in the bowl of the mountains. Activities include in walking, hiking, climbing, boating, canoeing, swimming, fishing, climbing, biking and skiing in the winter, and that's just in the immediate area! A short drive away can also find riding, golf and white water sports.

Bohinj / Triglav National Park area

Triglav National Park is perfect for all types of outdoor activity, or simply a relaxing break. The park is dotted with picturesque villages, and there are plenty of restaurants serving traditional, local food. The Vogel ski centre is less than 10 minutes drive away, and the cable car runs both summer and winter. The views alone are worth the trip. There is also skiing at Bohinj Bistrica.

How to get there

Ljubljana airport is only a 45 minute drive away, cheap flights can be found from Easy Jet and Wizz Air. Klagenfurt airport is around 50 mintes to an hours drive, and cheap flights can be found with Ryan Air. Trieste airport is about two and a half hours drive.
