The Dray House is a contemporary apartment designed for self catering, which adjoins the owners house built in c1870, located in the pretty village of Pagham & Nyetimber, West Sussex. Adapted from part of the original house, a larger traditional house built c1870, which used to house the brewery supplying beer for the local public house which is sited opposite the property - The Lamb Inn.
Recently modernised and extended the separate self catering 1 bedroom apartment, makes the ideal setting for short breaks for a relaxing long weekend, being ideally positioned for exploring the local countryside or visiting Arundel Castle, the beautiful city of Chichester and can be used as a base for the various internationally renowned events held at the nearby Goodwood estate.
The self contained, open plan, ground floor accommodation is all on one level and comprises of a main vaulted lounge area with a small dining table and two chairs, off this there is a separate large walk-in shower room and a compact but well equipped kitchen with Nespresso coffee machine also adjoining the lounge is the bedroom well furnished with a king sized bed. Outside there is designated parking area and a secluded shared garden with a seating area which guests may use. The apartment is fitted to a high standard with a 50" flat screen SMART 3D TV with FreeView, high speed ethernet access and WIFI, along with a superb Bang & Olufsen sound system with CD/Radio and loudspeakers. Seating in the main living area comprises of a large leather sofa and two classic Eames lounge chairs with ottomans.

Within walking distance of the apartment there are a number of shops including; Post office/village shop, betting agent, Tesco Extra, Indian and Chinese take-away (also serving English dishes - pretty good fish & chips) and some really great pubs with restaurants. A number of footpaths are close by leading to Pagham Harbour RSPB Nature Reserve across the fields and the pebble beach of Pagham itself is approximately within 15 mins walk.

The South East England region
The South Coast of England and the local area around Pagham, has a wealth of things to do and see. From National Trust country estates such as Petworth House, Uppark House to Slindon and East Head (west Wittering Beach). Within a short drive you can visit; Arundel Castle & Gardens, Chichester Cathedral, Goodwood House and Sculpture Park (Cass Sculpture Foundation), Chichester Festival Theatre, WWT Arundel Wetland Centre, Weald and Downland Open Air Museum, West Dean Gardens, Amberley Working Open Air Museum, Tangmere Military Aviation Museum and Fishbourne Roman Palace. Slightly further afield but still definitely worth a visit are the historic dockyards of Portsmouth with the awe inspiring HMS Victory and the recently opened Mary Rose Museum exhibiting Britain's great Tudor warship.
The village of Pagham & Nyetimber is located to the West of Bognor Regis and is bordered by open farm land. Its internationally important harbour is an SSI and plays host to 20,000 migratory geese in the winter and numerous waders and truly great birdwatching area throughout the year as birds feed on the mudflats at low tide and the surrounding fields at high tide. Pagham beach is shingle giving way to wide stretches of sand at low tide and panoramic views from Bognor Regis to Selsey Bill.
There is a bus stop conveniently located a few meters away from the self catering accommodation which can transport you into Bognor Regis, Chichester or Midhurst. Chichester's Farmers market is usually held on the first Friday of every month and the date for Midhurst's market alternates with Petworth every 4th Saturday every other month (for more information www.localfoods.org.uk).

"Ideal accommodation for a couple to stay in for a relaxing break"
The apartment was in excellent condition with a high standard of furniture and fittings. The owner was friendly and the personal touch was evident in the apartment with welcome food and toiletries in the bathroom.
There were many Pubs, take away shops and local stores within walking distance. Although we did not use them.
We had a lovely break.
