Barn | 3 bedrooms | sleeps 6
This is just a great place for up to three couples looking to meet up for a few days away. Located in the most peaceful hamlet of Flansham just five minutes from the beach at Climping this barn offers really comfortable and spacious accommodation that is bright and welcoming. The living area is a great social space however there is also a mezzanine area above the living room with a sofa and desk, somewhere to read in quiet and without interruption maybe.
Old Barn has three bedrooms each is fitted with a double bed, so hence our comment it is probably better suited to couples than possibly families. Throughout there is underfloor heating giving it that comfortable constant warm feel, yet the stone floor keep it cool in summer. The bathroom is fitted with both bath and shower above and there is a separate cloakroom fitted with a bidet.
The barn is attached to Wellow Barn which we also feature allowing accommodation to combine for anyone looking for up to ten guests between both barns. Together the barns work well for a group of friends, while individually they are both private with their own completely separate entrances.

The South East England region
Sussex is in the south east of England stretching along the English Channel from Rye in the east to Chichester Harbour and Emsworth in the west with many fine blue flag beaches in between.
The chalk downland of the South Downs cover a large part of Sussex from where they meet the sea at Beachy Head in East Sussex through to the Hampshire border near South Harting in the west.
Chichester is the cathedral city of Sussex and Brighton and Hove on the Sussex coast is considered to be one of the most cosmopolitan cities in Europe. Arundel and Lewes are two historic towns within the county both have imposing castles and are popular towns to visit.
The climate enjoyed in Sussex is above the average for Great Britain, which makes it ideal for visiting throughout the year.
As we have mentioned Flansham is a beautifully unspoilt hamlet found along a quiet lane and is very close to the sea.
The popular beach at Climping, which is probably the most accessible, is an area of special scientific interest and stretches for a couple of miles. On the eastern end is West Beach that meets with the estuary of the River Arun at Littlehampton. At the top of the beach is the West Beach Café constructed from locally sourced materials by local craftsmen. It comes highly recommended for its fish and chips!
Chichester the cathedral city of Sussex is no more than five miles from the cottage. It has played a key role in the affairs of Sussex since at least Roman times. The city has broad streets that are packed with listed buildings headed by the towering presence of the cathedral.
The city centre is neatly enclosed within the ancient city walls, which helps to make Chichester compact and pleasant to explore on foot. It is a cosmopolitan, vibrant and friendly city proudly combining two thousand years of heritage with a lively lifestyle. A trip to the Chichester Festival Theatre close by to the centre is worth considering since it is famous for the quality of theatre productions, many of which premiere here before moving on to the London theatre scene. For the film buff the cinema complex and nearby restaurants to the south of the city also make for an enjoyable evening out.
Five miles northeast of Flansham on the River Arun is the historic market town of Arundel dominated by the symbolic castle and the rising spire of the cathedral. The town makes an imposing site when approached from the south. It offers a plethora of craft and antique shops as well as restaurants and tearooms. It's a great place to wander and just enjoy its hospitality.
There is always much to see and do in Sussex and staying so near the coast gives the best of both; beaches very close by and an easy springboard back inland to explore the South Downs, a great area to walk.
